Masking, Drippage & Ghosting

1. Watercoloured Paper2. Three (3) colours (red, blue and green)

3. Spray all colours randomly over page4. Blot with paper towel5. Choose two (2) masks and repeat same spray pattern6. Blot again with paper towel

7. Spray top of page with water and stand paper up tocreate drippage effect

8. Blot again with paper towel to dry9. Option: Finish with background stamps in black

Calico Background1. Strip calico by tearing to give worn edge effect2. Use Mod Podge to stick to page (Landscape)

overlapping each strip slightly

3. Spray each strip of calico with a different colourusing Mister Hueys to create a rainbow effect

4. Dry with heat gun5. Choose a mask of your liking

6. Repeat Gesso masking technique7. Dry with heat gun8. To finish off dry brush Gesso across some strips

Background1. This technique is to show you the different coverage youget with different textures and mediums with both spraybrands.

2. Choose a double page

3. Apply random pieces of cardstock, calico, manila tag,water colour paper, masking tape to create a collageaffect (overlap pieces) and cover whole of both pages

4. Choose a Mister Hueys colour and spray first page5. You may need to blot drybut is should hold fast and

only need to be dried with heat gun

6. Ensure you cover your first page with a piece of papertowel so it is not affected by overspray

7. Choose a Dylusions Ink Spray colour and spray secondpage

8. Blot dry with paper towel

9. Dry both pages with heat gun

Resist Papers1. This is not going in your book we have provided.2. Choose a Dylusions Ink Spray and a mask of your choice

remembering this will be a layout background for you tocomplete at home

3. Starting at the top right hand corner lay your mask down andspray generously to cover mask

4. Move your mask to another area of the page and spray lightlythis will give shading to your background

5. Do this as many times you like but you do not want to cover thewhole page

6. Blot with paper towel7. Choose an area that was sprayed generously and mask appears

clearly8. Spray this area generously with water

9. Blot with paper towel10. This gives a better shading by diluting the background and

creates layers of colour

11. Leave to dry

Texture Paste1. Choose a double page2. Choose a mask and place it on your first page3. Using texture cover your mask using a palette knife or credit card not

too thick4. Remove mask carefully

5. Please wash mask immediately and dry6. Dry page with heat gun (not too close)7. Spray page with Mister Hueys (colours of your choice)

8. Blot dry with paper towel9. On second page prepare your background by spraying with

Mister Hueys

10. Blot dry with paper towel11. Choose a mask and repeat texture paste technique

12. Please wash mask immediately and dry13. Dry with heat gun14. Colour with distress inks of your choice using foam applicator tool
