In 2010 Twinning averaged $2.55 /year per USA/Toronto Student
• If we raised the average to $10 per year ($1 per month) more than $700,000 would be raised.
• Presently well-performing schools could “share” successful techniques with others.
• A trip of a few students & 2 teachers to the African school can enhance the relationship enormously.
College Assistance
• Colleges/High Schools could send a teacher (maybe with family) to Africa school for 6 weeks for more in-depth experience of Africa.
• Colleges could have a project at an African school similar to LaSallian Developing World Projects(UK). Group of 10 + 2 Staff build/interact for several weeks. A minimum of $10,000 allocated to cover living expense & support work at the local site.
ONGOING COMMUNICATION
• Mission Coordinator for the African schools to Visit/Skype each USA school to ensure ongoing contact yearly & to check on the progress of the twinning collections.
• A system of regular Photos/Newsletters/ Pen Pal/Skype exchanges instituted.
• Overall Coordinator for overseas volunteer and group “practicalities”.
