Healthcare & Recovery Services

Affordable Housing Employment Services

• CCC Recovery Center: Outpatient drug and alcohol treatment services for homeless and low-income clients.

• Recovery Mentor Program: Mentors connect with clients one-on-one to provide practical and emotional support to those in early recovery; includes housing.

• Community Engagement Program: A comprehensive healthcare, recovery and housing program serving chronically homeless individuals.

• Housing Rapid Response: Provides housing and supportive services to homeless individuals identified by Portland Police as frequent offenders.

• The Imani Center: Provides culturally specific mental health and addictions treatment for African-Americans adults.

• Puentes: Linguistically and culturally appropriate substance abuse treatment and mental health services for Spanish-speaking families.

• Esperanza Juvenil: Recovery treatment programs for Spanish-speaking teens who are gang affected.

• Eastside Concern: Outpatient treatment and diversion program.

• Old Town Clinic: Primary medical care, mental healthcare, acupuncture and naturopathic services for homeless and low-income individuals.

• BEST: Expedited assistance with SSI/SSD and Medicaid applications for referred homeless individuals.

• Hooper Detox Stabilization Center: Regional detox center providing drug and alcohol treatment services including outreach, sobering and medical detoxification.

• Letty Owings Center: Comprehensive, intensive residential treatment and continuing care services for low-income, chemically dependent women who are pregnant or parenting young children.

• CCC Pharmacy: Fills medication prescribed by CCC providers; offers Medication Therapy Management, Anticoagulation Clinic, diabetes program, consultations, and more.

• Old Town Recovery Center: Outpatient mental health services for homeless or very low- income individuals.

• Recuperative Care Program: Transitional housing, recuperative healthcare services and daily case management for low-income/homeless patients following hospitalization.

• Bud Clark Clinic: Provides short-term treatment for injuries, new illnesses, and urgent medical needs for people experiencing homelessness; located in the Bud Clark Commons.

• CHIERS Van/Sobering Station: Public safety service; trained EMTs transport inebriated individuals to the Sobering Station for medical assessment and a safe place to recover.

Central City Concern builds and restores affordable housing across the Portland metropolitan area. CCC currently owns or manages 23 buildings with approximately 1,700 units of housing.

Supportive Housing Services: housing is frequently combined with built-in support services that improve a client’s chance of maintaining recovery, attaining employment and moving toward self-sufficiency. More than half of our units are Alcohol and Drug Free Communities.

Affordable Housing: Our affordable housing portfolio includes both transitional and permanent units for the following tenant populations:

• Indivudals

• Individuals in recovery

• Individuals in employment programs

• Families in recovery

• Individuals living w/ HIV/AIDS

• Individuals managing mental health challenges

• Veterans

CCC’s Employment Access Center (EAC) provides employment services and work experience opportunities for low-income or homeless individuals with significant barriers to employment. EAC uses an evidence-based practice, Supported Employment, to help clients develop and implement a comprehensive plan that will enable them to compete successfully for living-wage jobs and career advancement opportunities.

Clients receiving employment services concurrently participate in work experience opportunities:

• Community Volunteer Corps: mean-ingful volunteer work opportunities for people living in CCC housing.

• On-call Staffing: trainees provide 24/7 front desk coverage to CCC Housing buildings across Portland.

• CCC Clean Start: trainees operate a homeless day storage facility and provide street cleaning services in Portland and Gresham.

• Central City Coffee® and Central City Bed®: clerical trainees assist with compiling purchase orders, bookkeeping, sales, promotional and marketing activities, and customer service to gain and master transferrable skills.
