• I think this mission is very interesting because it is (The Queen of The Missions). It was also founded by father Fermin Lasuen.

• It is the only mission to remain under the leadership of the Franciscan Friars since the day of it’s founding.

Was the mission ever damaged? Was it fixed?

• It was damaged in 1812 with all of the earthquakes going on. While they were fixing the church, they added two extra towers to the mission.

• The Indian tribe that lived there was the Chumash tribe. Padres lived there too.

• The padres taught Indians to build a water system, corn was harvested, cattle were raised, and everyone went to church.

• The Native Americans, must have liked there lives at the mission because they were given water, houses, food, and trade skills.
