MISSION OF HOPE
A PRAYER FOR CHRISTMAS MORNING
From A Treasury of Christmas Stories
The day of joy returns, Father in
Heaven, and crowns another year
with peace and good will.
Help us rightly to remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels, the
gladness of the shepherds, and the worship of
the wise men.
Close the doors of hate and open the doors of
love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift and good
desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing that Christ
brings, and teach us to be joyful with clean and
holy hearts abounding in love for you.
May the Christmas morning make us happy to
be children of God, and the Christmas evening
bring us to our bed with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
Our Children of Hope Tree is unique
from every other “angel tree” you know
about. The majority of our clients come
to us with their family relationships
strained, broken, or non-existent. When
you send your $50 contribution to spon-
sor a child on our tree, we take our list and shop for all the
children. The toys are then organized by age category, and
placed on tables. Our clients come in and “shop” (at no
cost, of course) for the perfect toys for their children. Our
clients then wrap their children’s gifts, write their own card
and present the gifts to their children on Christmas visita-
tion day. This helps in restoring broken relationships.
When client’s come to our program at Christmas time, it is
so hard for them to be away from their families, and the
concern of not being able to work to buy their children gifts
is a very real burden for them. Once they hear about our
Children of Hope Tree, their concerns go away, and they
are able to focus on getting the help they need and finishing
their program here. It really is a win-win for everyone.
YOUR sponsorship does that. Please help. And if you
can’t contribute, please help us spread the word.
You may ask, “How can I participate?” You can purchase
a $50 gift card from WAL-MART or if you would prefer
sending a $50 check or cash, you may do that as well to the
address below. Just make sure that your donation is well
marked– CHILDREN OF HOPE TREE. We can also
charge your credit card, but you’ll need to contact Susan at
251-533-0246. Your sponsorship is tax-deductable, so
make sure we have all your personal info.

What a great time we had at Faith Academy in Mobile
on Wednesday, October 23! The school invited all 3 of
our campuses to come and be the guests at a chapel ser-
vice. Our choir led the worship and we had testimonies
from both the men’s and women’s campus. Brother Jim
Jordan shared a Word with everyone. God really moved
in the hearts of these young men and women as 20 peo-
ple walked down to accept Jesus as their Lord and Sav-
ior. There was plenty of prayer being poured out as the
Spirit moved. What a blessing this morning was!!!
Glory to God!!!
We are currently working on much needed
updates and repair of our Taylor House in Mt.
Vernon. The Lord blessed us with this home
in 2009. It’s a beautiful 9,000 sq ft, 3 story
home with 22 beds for women who are in
need of help. The project includes new bed-
ding, paint supplies, flooring, ceiling fans,
resurfacing hardwood floors, kitchen cabi-
nets, mirrors and blinds. The cost estimation
is around $15,000. We have already raised $3,350 and have been blessed with an
anonymous donor who is willing to match dollar for dollar up to $7,500. We are
almost half way there, praise God!! Would you please pray about partnering with us
and helping us to meet this goal? We want to be good stewards over this house God
has given to us and see it hold up and stay beautiful as more and more women make
it their home while learning about who Jesus is. Contact Stephanie Hepburn at

My name is Kim and I’m 37
years old. I started using drugs when
I was 19 years old. I quickly became
addicted and started my descent
down a long dark road.
In 2007, I was admitted into the Ha-
ven of Hope and got saved. However, I believe I was
full of head knowledge but did not have my heart sur-
rendered to God. The head without the heart fails
quickly. I thought just showing up every Sunday for
church would keep me clean but a deep relationship
with Jesus was the key ingredient that was missing.
So it wasn’t long before I stopped going to church. I
fell fast and much harder than before. This time I
stayed in addiction, walking in complete darkness for
12 years.
On January 7, 2019 the Haven of Hope took me back
in. This time I was like a sponge, soaking up the Word.
I rededicated my life to the Lord and this time fully
surrendered my heart. This, along with the saturation
of the Word cleansed me and began to completely
change and heal me. I began to learn who the Lord
was to me, and who I was in the Lord.
I graduated the program in April and moved into the
Heritage Haus located on the Mt. Vernon property
with my 4 year old daughter. I now work as a staff
member for this ministry, serving at the Heritage
Haus by watching the clients’ children while the
women are trying to get to know Jesus through our
program. I feel so overwhelmed and blessed that I
get to be a part and give back to the ministry that
taught me the love and obedience of Jesus Christ. I
watch my daughter pick up on the godly environment
that surrounds her. I watch her pray with the staff
and other children and know that it is producing
something in her I could never have given her out
there in the world. It fills me with joy!
