2.1. CHTF

3000 exposants, 500'000 visiteurs… C’est la principale exposition technologique de

Chine. Le thème de cette année est : « innovative entrepreneurship, cross-border

integration » ce qui cadre parfaitement avec notre participation. Le focus sera sur la

conservation de l’énergie, le rapprochement entre biologie et électronique, l’industrie

2.2. HAX ACCELERATOR / HAXLR8R

HAX est un incubateur technologique et un investisseur. Les entreprises sélectionnées (une

dizaine par « saison » sur plusieurs centaines de candidates) bénéficient d’un financement de

300’000$ en moyenne et d’un accompagnement visant à les conduire le plus vite possible de

l’idée vers le prototype puis un produit commercialisable, en tirant profit de l’écosystème

technologique avancé de Shenzhen.

Les deux fondateurs français de HAX, Cyril Ebersweiler et Benjamin Joffe, sont à San Francisco

avec la promotion 2015 de HAX. Nous sommes reçus par Karina (community manager) et Qiyu

Wu (operation manager). Un alumni de l’an dernier, qui compte à présent 13 employés, viendra

témoigner de son expérience.

2.3. PCH

“PCH is an Irish custom design manufacturing company. 3000 pax strong, it

has offices in Ireland, Shenzhen (main operational office), San Francisco, HK,

Seoul and Tokyo. They help companies, large and small, move from prototype

to production and beyond. They deal with design engineering and

development, manufacturing and fulfillment, distribution and retail. They have

just bought the famous FAB e-commerce design portal to increase their direct-

sale capacity. They have two acceleration/incubation programs: PCH Access

(helps small hardware companies scale up and get to market) and Highway1 (4

month accelerator program between SF and SHZ). You will meet with the head

of the PCH Access program.

2.4. INNOPARK

Cet Innopark intègre un incubateur, une plate-forme de services technologiques et un

partenariat avec des VC de HK au sein d’un parc vertical (un building idéalement situé à

proximité du marché de l’électronique, du centre des expositions, du siège des autorités

locales et accessoirement du bureau de l’Awex à Shenzhen). Parmi les technologies

représentées : 3D animation, high speed photography, shortwave light souces, robots,

drones, senseurs, autonomous underwater navigation device, équipement cartographique

3D, navigation…

Ce qui le rend particulièrement intéressant ce sont ses puissants parrains : SEIA, SEG et

Zhaobangji. Et le fait que le MOU qui sera signé lors de la visite prévoit 6 mois gratuits pour

les entreprises wallonnes qui décident de s’y installer.

SEIA ,ou Shenzhen Electronics Industry Association réunit depuis trente ans les principaux acteurs des secteurs de l’IT

et de l’électronique à Shenzhen. Elle compte parmi ses membres des géants comme Huawei ou ZTE.

SEG est la plus grosse entreprise d’électronique de Shenzhen, avec un CA d’environ 1MM€/an et 8000 employés.

2.5. HUAQIANG NORTH ELECTRONIC MARKET

Huangqiang North Electronic Market is a purchasing and distributing

center for electronic products based in Shenzhen, consisting of 11 large-

scale electronic markets, such as SEG and Huaqiang electronic market,

and Cyber Mart etc. Nowadays, it is not only the leading electronic

market in Asia, but also a purchasing and distributing center for small &

medium electronic enterprises globally, acting like a ‘barometer’ for

electronic markets both at home and abroad. Probably the biggest

electronic market in the world.

2.6. DJI (CHOIX 1)

DJI figure parmi les success stories qui ont placé Shenzhen sur la carte

mondiale des technologies avancées. Créée il y a une dizaine d’années,

DJI compte à présent 3000 employés et domine le marché des drones

avec son PHANTOM. C’est un drone DJI qui s’est posé sur la Maison

Blanche l’an dernier, augmentant encore la notoriété de l’entreprise.

DJI s’attaque à présent au marché des caméras d’action (GoPro). 80% de

l’industrie mondiale des drones est concentrée à Shenzhen et DJI fait face à de très nombreuses « copycat

companies », imitant (et parfois améliorant ) ses produits.

DJI figure dans le top3 des entreprises technologiques les plus innovantes de 2015 en compagnie de Google et Tesla

(Fast company ranking).

2.7. MEDIATEK (CHOIX 2)

Headquarter in Taiwan. Since 1997, MediaTek has been a pioneering fabless

semiconductor company and a market leader in cutting-edge systems-on-chip (SoC)

for mobile devices, wireless networking, HDTV, DVD, integrated circuits, chipsets and

Blu-ray. It is a big competitor of Qualcomm and Intel. Through MediaTek Labs, the

company is also building a developer hub that will support device creation,

application development, and services for the Internet of Things era. Top 100 Global Innovator (Reuters)

2.8. ZTE (CHOIX 3)

Fondée en 1985 à Shenzhen , la société ZTE est l'un des plus grands fabricants

d'équipements de télécommunications et de téléphones mobiles au monde. ZTE

collabore avec plus de 230 opérateurs et distributeurs dans plus de 160 pays

(dont Base en Belgique). ZTE développe des mobiles sur-mesure pour les marques

partenaires.

2.9. SIHC / [CREATIVE DISTRICT]² SEMINAR

Shenzhen Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. est une des plus puissantes entreprises d’état

du sud de la Chine. Active dans l’immobilier, la finance, les investissements, les

assurances, les parcs industriels, le soutien aux industries technologiques, les services

publics, la protection de l’environnement,l ‘architecture et le consulting, ses actifs

sont estimés à plus de 20MM€. Le groupe comprend près de 150 entreprises

distinctes.

C’est un des principaux véhicules de la ville pour les investissements importants dans

5. SURVIVAL GUIDE IN SZ

Shenzhen isn’t dangerous. You’ll do fine.

Still, some tips :

1.Cash: you can get HKD in Belgium but you will most likely pay almost everything with your credit card or get

some money from an ATM. For RMB just use your maestro bank card in an ATM (but activate it for China before

you leave Belgium). Credit cards only in hotels and luxury stores. In shops cash rules… (or mobile payment app

but it will take you too long to figure out how to use them and you need some chinese). Some fake 100 and 50

RMB bills. Normally you don’t care as you’ll get your money from the bank. Don’t draw too much cash because

you won’t be able to change it back to euros easily.

2. Taxi: just flag one. Signal them to activate meter if they don’t do it when they start (they usually do). Show the

address you want to reach in chinese. Don’t try to say it out loud or show it in english. Drivers are honest, and

just a bit crazy on the road. Ask for and keep the bill (fapiao), makes it easier to find the ipad you’ve forgotten

on the seat.

3. Metro: easy and everything is in english. Buy metro ticket through ticket vending machine, choose a apecific

metro station, then input coins or 5/10 Yuan notes, you’ll get a ticket. Can get change at customers service

center if needed (RMB only). OR, you can buy a Shenzhen Transcard in the customers service center (50/100

RMB).

4. SIM card: you can buy one in Mobile shops. You’ll need your passport. Many chinese phones are dual SIM but

yours probably isn’t though…

6. Wanna go out? Ask the reception for “coco park” and you’ll find places there. Walking distance. Closes earlier

than in Europe though.

6. Ways to arrive in Shenzhen from HKG airport if you lost the group (the only tricky part)

Ferry. Once at the airport, please follow Sky Pier / Ferries. Do not exit the airport, do not pass the

custom and exit the airport, because you cannot go back. At the pier, buy a ticket to Shenzhen SHEKOU.

The Shekou Pier is relatively close to Four Seasons Hotel.

Join the whole delegation as follows: Take a taxi or metro to a meeting point. (Please refer to HK touring

agenda)

If you are outside of the airport and going to SZ by yourself, go underground all the way to the LoWu or

LokMaChau metro stations. It takes a little while. There you walk to China and on the other side get

some cash first then take either a cab or the metro to 4Seasons (see Where should I be? for address and

closest metro station).

Christian de Lannoy, Consul général de Belgique à Canton

Christian de Lannoy (Anvaing), licencié en droit de l’UCL et MSc de la London School of Economics

est entré dans la carrière diplomatique en 1997 après un passage dans l’administration wallonne.

Il a été en poste à Damas, à l’OTAN, au Chili et à Madrid.

Christian de Lannoy est marié à Luisa de Lannoy et père de trois enfants.

Miaomiao Liu (Shenzhen) a rejoint l’Awex en 2010 et dirige depuis notre bureau de Shenzhen. Elle a

développé une expertise reconnue en promotion des investissements et dans les matières

commerciales. Dispose d’un réseau unique dans les secteurs logistique, commerce électronique et

technologique. Actuellement engagée dans un MBA auprès de la prestigieuse Peking University.

Michel Gerebtzoff (Liège\Genève) est diplômé de Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech (ULG). Après une première

carrière comme ingénieur dans le privé (télédétection et cartographie numérique) il a rejoint les

affaires étrangères comme diplomate fédéral (La Haye, Genève-ONU-OMC, Pékin) puis l’Awex comme

AEC. Il est marié et père de deux adolescentes. A ses heures perdues écrit des delegation’s handbooks

9. SHENZHEN AND MAPS

9.1. LA VILLE DE SHENZHEN

La ville de Shenzhen (深圳) tire son nom des canaux profonds caractéristiques de cette zone de delta, traversée de nombreuses rivières. En 1979, Shenzhen n’était une bourgade de pêcheurs. Ses 30.000 habitants étaient éparpillés sur les 2.000 km² de la Commune. En trente ans, Shenzhen s’est transformée de façon spectaculaire en une métropole moderne de près de 15 millions d’habitants, aux portes de Hong Kong.

L’élément déclencheur de ce développement spectaculaire fut l’octroi par Pékin du statut de « zone économique spéciale », conformément à la politique de libéralisation voulue par Deng Xiaoping. Shenzhen est rapidement devenue une des villes les plus dynamiques de Chine, portée par une population jeune et cosmopolite, issue de tout le pays. On y parle d’ailleurs le mandarin et non le cantonais comme dans le reste de la province du Guangdong ou à Hong Kong.

Shenzhen dispose d’un statut spécial, qui la fait dépendre directement de Pékin pour bon nombre de politiques

et non de la province du Guangdong, dont elle fait officiellement partie.

Shenzhen est un terreau fertile d’expérimentation économique, politique et sociale. Sur le plan économique Shenzhen se distingue particulièrement dans les secteurs suivants : logistique (3e port mondial, devant celui d’Hong Kong depuis l’année dernière), électronique, télécommunications, biologie, énergies nouvelles, design, services financiers (avec la zone expérimentale de Qianhai). Elle a vu naître quelques entreprises emblématiques comme Huawei (télécommunications), Tencent (IT), ZTE (télécommunications), BYD (automobiles), BGI (biotechnologies).

Une partie du territoire de Shenzhen (dans les districts de Qianhai et de Shekou) fait partie de la toute nouvelle Zone de Libre Echange du Guangdong, inaugurée ce 21 avril 2015. Les autorités chinoises entendent tirer le meilleur parti de la proximité de Hong Kong et Macao en œuvrant en faveur de davantage d’intégration économique les deux zones administratives spéciales et en adoptant les recettes qui ont contribué à leur réussite. Il s’agit également d’attirer une nouvelle vague d’investissements notamment dans le secteur des services.

Shenzhen et la Belgique: le Brabant Wallon est depuis 2003 jumelé avec Shenzhen. Le bureau de

représentation de Shenzhen pour l’Europe est installé à Bruxelles. Shenzhen a accueilli chaque année des

délégations belges de haut niveau (Ministre Marcourt en 2010, SAR le Prince Philippe, à la tête de la mission

princière en 2011, Gouverneur du Brabant Wallon en 2012...) et, enfin SM la Reine en décembre 2013.

Certaines entreprises de Shenzhen ont investi en Belgique, notamment le géant de l’électronique Huawei.

Même si les principaux investissements belges dans la Province du Guangdong ne se trouvent pas à Shenzhen,

la ville n’en est pas moins une des villes de Chine les plus visitées par nos entreprises. Shenzhen accueille

plusieurs foires de grande renommée internationale, dont la prestigieuse High-Tech Fair, qui tient depuis 2013

une oversea’s session à Bruxelles, ainsi que la CILF (Logistique). Les trois régions organisent très régulièrement

des événements à Shenzhen afin de capturer l’intérêt de potentiels investisseurs vers la Belgique
