Missile Wars• Are you the type of person
who can’t stand going to the
gym or “running for fun”?
Interested in mixing some
traditional elements of real
time strategy games with
real-world fitness?
Missile Wars might be just the app for you.
Missile Wars• When players sign up and log into
the app, other players can launch
missile attacks at them. After the
missile is launched, players have a
60-second timeframe in which
they have to physically get out of
the blast zone: this often requires
some fast-paced running.
Missile Wars• Players earn points for
successfully blasting others
with missiles; these points
can then be exchanged for
upgraded missiles with a
wider blast range.
Missile Wars• The app’s developers keep a
running leaderboard online
so that you can see the top
players and those who have
recently launched an
attack.
Missile Wars• Holly, Julie has sent a deadly
missile your way! You have
60 seconds to get out of the
red blast center…run! Haha,
I’m too quick for Julie’s puny
missile, now she’s in for a
serious counter-strike.
Missile Wars• If you succeed you can
work your way up the ranks
and unlock more weapons
and be promoted to
Sargent, Commander, etc.
Missile Wars• This is a great example of
how gamification took a
traditional workout and
made it fun and interactive,
thus encouraging people to
workout harder and more
often.
