The City of Mishawaka has invested over 60 million dollars in developing and refurbish-ing its utilities and infrastructure facilities in an attempt to provide better, more effi-

cient services to its citizens. Wastewater Treatment Plant Expan-

sion The city has invested 39 million dollars

in an effort to update its wastewater treatment plant. The project is slated for completion in the next year.

Neighborhood Initiatives Program This program consists of a coordinated

effort to improve Mishawaka’s neighborhoods. The Neighborhood Ini-tiatives program has been instrumental in the installation of new sewer sys-tems, curbs and sidewalks, and has spear-headed an effort to provide owner-occupied home rehabilitation and spot-blight elimination throughout the city.
