Mirl Gilbert Trusley Mirl Gilbert Trusley was born on Feb 18, 1932 in Yakima, WA. to Nona and Clifford Trusley. He passed away the evening of August, 15, 2014 in Vancouver, WA. Mirl is survived by his wife Polly of 47 years, his daughter, Becky Long (Wade), and son Christopher Trusley, daughters Gayle Lee and Melody Cruz from his first marriage. He is also survived by Becky’s two children Isaac and Elizabeth Long and another grand-daughter Amy Lake as well as other extended family members. Mirl left Davis High School to join the Navy in 1951 . He served on the U.S.S. Cavallaro during the Korean War. Mirl was a jack of all trades, he joined the Yakima Fire Department, worked in Alaskan coal mines, worked for Whitesides, and then began his own business as a locksmith. He retired briefly to build a home for his family and then went back to work as a school bus driver. Mirl and Polly married in Yakima on August 24, 1967. For 15 years they lived there and began their family. In 1983 they moved to Yacolt, WA to retire. Mirl was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish and garden. Some of his favorite stories were of the week-long hunting trips he took with family and friends into the Blue Mountains. Mirl will be remembered by family and friends as a fun-loving jokester.
