A number of HCM applications have been enhanced in 9.2 For this discussion we will focus on Core HR, Benefits Payroll, ePerformance and Recruiting.

ELM , Pension and HR Help Desk have enhancements as well, but for the sake of the allocated time slot, are not part of this presentation.

During the course of the past few years a number of clients have invested in upgrading their systems to 9.1 and may not find that they want to undergo another upgrade at this time.

Oracle recognizes this and has made it possible to implement the Talent Management modules list her available at 9.2 to integrate with your 9.1 systems. So if you have a license for any of these modules and havent implemented them yet, or you are considering licensing them , or you have implemented them and find value in the 9.2 enhancements, there is an option to deploy 9.2 Talent without having to upgrade your entire HCM suite.

Note that many of the new features do require an upgrade of PeopleTools to 8.53.

Core HR has two main areas that are new or enhanced.Smart HR has been introduced and is an extension of Smart Hire Smart HR also helps you configure your templates to simplify the user experience, just like Smart Hire, but it adds the ability to configure personal, job and profile data. Smart HR would be made available to HR Administrators and depending on your organization, you managers.

eProfile has been enhanced to replace the Verity search engine with SES which we spoke about earlier. In prior releases , only certain profile properties could use custom dynamic prompts.

Oracle has also provided an enhanced ad hoc salary change user experience. They have reduced the number of steps to perform the change and much more information is available on just one page.

The compensation history page has been updated to a cleaner look and feel. The user can sort the columns for easier review and analysis. There are also charts embedded in the transaction for viewing pay history.

The one major enhancement to benefits in 9.2 is the Guided Life Events process. This process is made possible through the use of PeopleTools Activity Guide feature. The intent of the enhancement is to streamline the life event process by reducing the need for a Benefits Administrator.

How it worksThe user will first land on the configurable welcome page where he or she will receive instructions on the process

They will receive a list of action items that they will need to complete. This list is configurable allowing you to add, delete, or change the order of steps. You can also configure which steps are required and which are optional.

A visual guide is provided so the user can see where they are in process and which steps still need to be completed.

Once they have completed the process, the user will receive a benefits enrollment summary which they can view and/or print

Documents can be attached in the process and approvals are triggered through self service

Currently, payroll analyst use online checks to model paychecks. If the analyst gets an error or forgets to delete the check, the payroll calculation job may error or an employee may be paid in error. Paycheck modeling will mitigate this issue and provide a separation of duty between individuals that can model checks versus create online checksPaycheck Modeling also empowers the employee with the ability to make payroll related decisions without calling the Payroll Department or HelpDesk. The end result is to increase employee satisfaction while reducing the workload of the Payroll Department.Through employee self service, Paycheck Modeling will be used to calculate what if situations. There are many reasons why an employee may want to use Paycheck Modeling. Some of those reasons are: The employee is due a Bonus or a Commission and would like to estimate the net take home pay. The employee received a large IRS refund and would like to adjust their withholding status accordingly and estimate the net take home pay. The employee would like to modify various benefit costs to determine net take home pay during Open Enrollment or a Life Event change.

Employees will also be able to print the modeled check and/or print the changes made. The printed modeled check will not contain the employee name, social security number or employee id and will be watermarked to assure the printed version cannot be used to misrepresent a real paycheck.

Time & Labor has a number of new features and enhancements. Ill talk about a few of these e in more detail, but here is an over view of what has changed.

Some of the ones we wont cover in much detail are:Administrators can now lock down timesheets during critical periods so no one can edit their time.

There are some configuration enhancements such as the expansion of template setting for the Time Reporting template. Administrators can control TRC usage on the timesheet and the display order. The system can be configured to send a notification to the employee if someone else other than them edits their time. This workcenter brings together the analytics, transactions, alerts for a person based upon their role.

From the workcenter, they can take action on tasks in the My Work paglet, run reports, processes and queries. Using the Notifications Framework, they can notify users of say, pending approvals and even set up recurring reminders.

Leveraging the Enterprise Components Desktop Integration Connector technology, users may request their absence and time off directly through MS Outlook. After entering their request, they can monitor the approval process .

The integration will use single sign-on to authenticate the user.

Replacing the old manager ePerformance dashboard is the ePerformance workcenter where you can view and edit documents from one page. As you can see there is a new Share with Employee button that informs the employee that the performance review is available for his/her review.

17A feature many people have been asking for is support for interim review periods. Since best practices are to encourage consistent feedback throughout the year and not just at the milestone of the formal review period, many organizations had to customize to workaround the constraint. Now in 9.2 you can have up to 11 interim review periods within a performance review cycle.

In additional there is a new PeopleSoft add on that allows you to capture email comments as performance notes. This saves time either from wading through emails or losing comments due to discarding of emails.

The applicant experience has been enhanced to allow for organizations to configure a welcome page that provides the applicant with the information you would like them to know about your company.

Step-by-step navigation is provided to guide the candidate through the application process. These guides are configurable so you can add, delete and change the order of steps. And..the guide can vary by job.

To streamline the number of applications submitted for a job posting you can vet candidates prior to them even starting the application process. You can present the candidate with terms and conditions for employment which will allow the candidate to determine if those terms and conditions are suitable for them. And you can pre-qualify the candidate through a series of questions. If the candidate does not pass the prequalification, they will not be allowed to apply for the position.

The candidate will have one more chance to review and edit their information through the review and submit page.

The optional feature of password controls for candidates can be implemented to strengthen security. Password expiration dates, strength requirements and allowable password matches can be implemented.

A Recruiting Homepage is available for recruiters and hiring managers to manage their day-to-day recruiting activities.

This workcenter is a collection of pagelets that you configure for the recruiters and managers. They can then personalize the homepage to be organized in a manner that suits how they want to see the information on the page.

Revision recuts will be made available on an annual basis. They include the latest General Availability software version, all maintenance postings to-date (of the revision recut date) and all feature packs as of the revision recut date

It is planned that new PeopleTools versions will be released annually with major application releases planned for approximately every three years.
