MINUTES OF THE MEETING

Venue: ME Cell, Medical College

Date: 15th December, 2017

A sensitization meeting on ATCOM was held at the ME unit on 15th December, 2017 at 2.30

pm under the chairmanship of worthy Principal, Dr. Bachan Lal Bhardwaj. The meeting was

attended by following MEU members:

Agenda:

• To sensitize the MEU and Curriculum Committee members about the ATCOM module, its

importance and various sections included in the module

• Any other with the permission of the chair

Proceedings:

ü The chairman welcomed the MEU members and the curriculum committee (CC) members

in the meeting.

ü A sensitization program of the MEU and CC members was conducted.

ü The program involved an interactive talk by Dr Amrit K Virk, MEU Co-ordinator, about

the Attitude and Communication Module (ATCOM module) and its relevance in current

system of medical education.



ü Dr Amrit also apprised the members of various sections in the module. The talk was

followed by healthy discussion. Dr Naresh Jyoti, member MEU, was also of the view that

few hours of our medical teaching should also include the teaching of these soft skills to

our students.

ü Dr Amrit informed the faculty that the ATCOM module, given by MCI, given its flexibility,

allows for minor changes to be incorporated according to the institution/university.

A sensitization cum orientation meeting was held at the ME unit on 17th November, 2017 at

2.30 pm under the chairmanship of worthy Principal, Dr. Bachan Lal Bhardwaj, Principal,

AMCH, Shahabad (M). The meeting was attended by following MEU members:

Agenda:

• To sensitize the MEU faculty about Medical Education Unit, its requirements as per MCI

guidelines, various ongoing Faculty developed programs.

• To sensitize the faculty about the concept of Competency Based Medical Education

(CBME)


Proceedings:

ü The chairman welcomed the MEU members and the curriculum committee (CC) members

in the meeting.

ü An orientation program of the MEU and CC members was conducted.



ü The program involved a talk by Dr Gurleen Kaur member MEU, about the Medical

Education Unit, its aims & objectives, and various requirements of the unit as per MCI

guidelines. She also sensitized the members about existing staff and infrastructure of MEU

of our college.

ü The subsequent talk was delivered by Dr Amrit Virk, MEU Co-ordinator on Competency

Based Medical Education (CBME), its need and relevance in current system of education.

She also apprised the curriculum committee members of their role in the newly constituted

committee. She informed the chair about the updated CC members and the need for it.

A meeting by Medical Education Unit (MEU) members was held at Principal Office on 16th

October, 2017 at 2.30 pm under the chairmanship of worthy Principal, Dr. Bachan Lal

Bhardwaj, Principal, AMCH, Shahabad (M). The following members of the MEU attended

the meeting:










26. Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Assistant Prof, Biochemistry MEU faculty

Agenda:

• To encourage MEU members to apply for FDPs at NC/RC

• To conduct orientation programs for faculty and residents to update them in recent

advances in Medical Education


Proceedings:

ü The MEU members were motivated and encouraged to apply for the Faculty Development

Programs (FDPs) at the Nodal/regional centres (ACME and FAIMER.)

ü Suggestions were invited for academic activities to be conducted by the MEU in our

institute.



ü The chairman informed the members about the various activities like clinical meeting and

CMEs being conducted by the MEU in collaboration with other departments.

ü Dr Amrit Virk, MEU Co-ordinator, suggested that regular orientation programs be

conducted by MEU, at least once in month for the faculty and residents to apprise them of

the advancement in Medical Education by the MCI like VISION 2015 document and

introduction of CBME in our medical curriculum.

ü Dr Naresh Jyoti seconded her opinion about the introduction of such orientation programs

for the faculty.

ü It was also decided to write to the Regional Centre (RC), MAMC, New Delhi, to inform

AMCH about the upcoming Revised Basic Course workshop and ATCOM module so that

nominations of MEU faculty may be sent.
