8 Benchmarking of

the Institution

TEQIP-II Coordinator presented comparative figures of TEQIP-II

Institutions for the parameters like number of programs that are

accredited or applied for, number of publications in refereed

journals, percentage of externally funded research and development

projects and consultancies in total revenue, transition rate of under

graduate study, status of autonomy, governance, and placement

rate. Members opined that the transmission rate and placement rate

could be enhanced by taking suitable remedial actions. Effort

should be made to collect information from premier institutions of

our state on aspects number of Ph. D.’s and patents so that

benchmarking can be done on wider basis.
