Kevin Chaplin (KC), Managing Director’s report KC introduced staff and volunteers. Vision: To provide the best Children and Youth programmes where all achieve and succeed in life. Mission: To provide a safe environment in challenged and vulnerable communities where we develop emotionally well rounded Children and Youth who make positive life choices and become contributing members of society. “Bad things happen to good people” The Foundation went through industrial action end of 2018 which is why the AGM was not held at the end of 2018. It affected the Foundation’s reputation and income. However, the Foundation got through it and will continue with the good work and changing lives. 2019 going forward The Foundation will have a bigger focus on youth skills development. Our Bonteheuwel after school centre is in full swing and the team will be strategising on the way forward with the other centres. Vocational training will be a big part of the new focus.

MINUTES ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

7 March 2019 AT 13:00 2 DAGBREEK STREET, SYBRAND PARK

1. Registration

Guests asked to sign the attendance register

2. Opening & Welcome Kevin Chaplin, MD of the Amy Foundation welcomed everyone to the AGM for 2018.

3. Apologies Rob Williams, Phumi Nhlapo, Tony Romer-Lee

4. Confirmation of the minutes of the AGM held on 18 August 2017 The minutes was approved by Afiefa Behardien and seconded by Michelle Bagley.

5. Kevin Chaplin (KC), Managing Director’s report KC introduced staff and volunteers. Vision: To provide the best Children and Youth programmes where all achieve and succeed in life. 2018 month by month income: Due to the industrial action there was a huge drop in income at the end of 2018. Now focusing all efforts on increasing income again.

Finance challenges: • Future funding • Costs • Finance assistant • Change of auditors • Loss of income due to industrial action Finance highlights: • Clean audits • Endowment fund • Tight control in costs • Increase in monthly debit orders and pledges • Diversified income • Growth in income of a R1 million

b. Human Resources

• Recruit the right people in the right job & retain them • Recognise skills & strength of current staff & do PDP to give them skills to succeed • Where skills are lacking provide the training • Be the best you can be! • Success will be rewarded Challenges: • Vacant positions and recruitment • Logistics • Industrial action
