This minute provides an update on the status of Fire Safety Surveys (FSS) following a scheduled audit conducted on 29 January 2013 for the period ending 31 December 2012. The audit is undertaken on buildings in the Defence Estate Management System (DEMS) with a 12 - 36 month FSS frequency and excludes buildings with a status of 'under construction'. The audit results are provided at Annex A. 2. The audit reveals that overall compliance is at a level of 90.0 percent. This is an improvement in the level of overall compliance revealed through the previous audit conducted in July 2012. Results of previous audits are shown at Annex B. 3. It is essential that FSS are undertaken to ensure fire safety deficiencies are identified and corrected. FIRE SAFETY SURVEYS - 6 MONTHLY STATUS REPORT
