2020 EARTH DAY Dear Minneapolis Park Supporter, We are excited to organize the 26th Annual Earth Day event, the largest volunteer effort in the City of Minneapolis. The Minneapolis Park and Recreaon Board (MPRB) strongly believes in environmental stewardship, part of the MPRB mission is to permanently preserve, protect, maintain, improve, and enhance its natural resources and parkland for current and future generaons. The MPRB has organized Earth Day events with more than 20,000 Minneapolis residents coming forward to support this important mission. More than 155,000 pounds of garbage have been removed from our neighborhoods and parks during the annual Earth Day clean up. The 2020 Earth Day Clean Up, set for Saturday, April 18 from 9:30 am to noon will consist of two components: cleaning up our watersheds and neighborhoods, and environmental educaon. There will be an esmated 35 clean up sites throughout Minneapolis. We would love to have you support our mission of preserving our parks for future generaons with a financial contribuon, which allows us to provide educaonal programs and supplies for volunteers during our Earth Day clean up. Your contribuon also provides you with excellent exposure to environmentally minded cizens and an opportunity to give back to the Minneapolis community and support our beauful park system.
