BENEDICTION
“Victory In Jesus”
I heard an old, old story, How a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning of His precious blood’s atoning,
Then I repented of my sins and won the victory.
I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing,
HYMN OF WORSHIPWORSHIP SERVICE
How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see
And then I cried “Dear Jesus, Come and heal my broken spirit,”
And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.
I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing and the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I’ll sing up there the son of victory.
(Chorus)O victory in Jesus my Savior, forever!
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

Sermon Title: “Compassion and Passion: The Trademark of Great Leaders”
IntroductionMany people allow lack of experience in ministry to block them from getting started in service and leadership, but Paul was compassionate and passionate about ministry and he was a great leader as a result. In our scripture text, Paul was on his first missionary journey. We can imagine that everything about his first journey was a completely new experience. When we think about Paul, sometimes we only see him as a
MINISTER’S OUTLINE
well-seasoned traveler, a veteran saint, hardcore, tough, having it all together. We can forget that there was a beginning for him. There were many lessons for Paul to learn.
I. Great leaders show compassion and passion by the way they notice and tend to the needs of the people. Acts 14: 8-10
Matthew 14:14Mark 1:40-41Revelation 3:15-16; 18bJohn 14:12-14Mark 2:5
II. Great leaders show compassion and passion by the way they respond quickly and decisively to trouble. Acts 14: 11-18
Proverbs 6:61 Peter 5:2Matthew 10:16Zechariah 11:16-17Exodus 20:2-3Matthew 6:9-13
III. Great leaders show compassion and passion by the way they continue to lead before, during, and after an attack. Acts 14: 19-20
Acts 20: 1-2; 18-32Matthew 10:28Ezekiel 37:1-142 Corinthians 11:10-15Acts 16:16-31
ConclusionBecause Jesus shed His precious blood for us, we should all strive to be great leaders, full of compassion and passion. There should be 100% employment in the Kingdom of God: no pew warmers.
