Three major events have collided

1. Recession2. Introduction and rapid

adoption of iPads and other mobile devices

3. Adoption of Common Core Standards

The technology behind the ipad can be layered.

That ability can be used to teach the rigor and differentiation behind

Common Core.

STEP 1: Determine your content

Step 2: Set up themed content folders on your iTouch and iPad

iPad -180 folders, each folder can store 20 apps for a total of 4,400 apps

iPhone - 180 folders, each folder can store 12 apps for a total of 2,160 apps

Step 3: Download a Common Core Standards App

Promote Guided Investigations

Guided Investigations:

• Can be Theme/Topic-based, or match core instruction• Support Common Cores call to expose students to multiple text types at varying degrees of challenge• Allow for student-led instruction

3. Set the alarm clock for ten minutes. Read and reread the book until the alarm goes off.

4. How many times did you read the book?

5. Use the word meaning graphic organizer in Tools4Students and note three interesting words from your book.

6. Use Dragon Dictation to retell the story. Email the retelling to [email protected].
