WePhoto - 2016 - Minimal - Vol 1
Dear all, I am very proud to introduce the new collection “The Series”. It was not so long ago since we have launched the first eBook, including the photo-graphic work of the 15 administrators, who at that time were cooperating in the “WePhoto” group. Sin-ce then, we have published 21 eBooks and the Spe-cial edition “Calendar 2015” and now two Calen-dars 2016.
This new collection – The Series - is made of diffe-rent eBooks, each one (or more than one if requi-red) related to a specific photographic theme, in-cluding the artworks of several authors from Italy and abroad. This is the first eBook of the seventh line of this new collection and has been dedicated to Minimal Photography.

Minimal
Minimal
A word so "small" that hides a WORLD UNSEEN. Infinite shades of beauty, co-lors and shapes. World of MINIMAL is vast, rich in details and also not well de-fined. Minimal can be a landscape that directs the gaze in one place, t can be a photo of Architecture, a photo of "Street" or something so close to us, a de-tail that focuses attention, that "CREATE" a picture "MINIMAL". I hope that this world fascinates you as fascinated me, and our talented authors.

I was born in Cagliari 26 years ago; from just 1 year I've enhanced the study of photography in all its fields. Fascinated by the possibility to share with other people the way I see the reality around me, i start to immortalize what i see in my mind with my trusty Pentax. I love the minimalism be-cause it allows me to direct the attention of the viewer to few elements in the picture, trying to transmit a message or an emotion through irony. Thanks to Fabrizio, my mentor , Silvia , my source of inspiration and my Pentaxians friends, that give me joy and happiness.

Educated at the Royal Academy of Art, where he studied graphic design, Chris Fraikin built a pro-fessional career for forty years in succession in the graphic, the IT and the music industry. In 2014 he decided to focus more on photography and in search for a direction in photography that would attract him most he attended lots of work-shops and made several photo tours as well in The Netherlands as abroad.Besides projects of all kinds, he currently found his main field of interest in what he calls 'ar-chtracts': minimalistic extracts of in particular ar-chitectural and urban objects. Mainly he roams at industrial sites to discover the objects which are photographed in a contemplative way. In his work you will recognize his graphic background.

Amo l'architettura razionalista, così come l'Impressionismo.

In this world since 1973, I started to handle cameras at
eight years, and then continued up to today, learning a
language that I often use more than words (with pleasu-
re of those who often suffer my sermons).
I'm a non-engineer, but I keep engineering approach, ra-
tional and analytical.
I love rationalist architecture, as well as Impressionism.
And through photography I try to find different perspecti-
ves of visions to share with everyone.
Photographically I like to portray people in their daily li-
ves, as well as adore the architectural geometries and
exploration of abandoned places. In all these phographic
occasions, I always feel strongly called by the particolar,
the detail that we don’t note in ordinary life, but feels
good to be seen.
Few months ago I found a cultural association whose
purpose is to bring and talk together photography with
other forms of art, in which I put all the energies that
work and a wonderful son still leave in me.

PINO DI GIACOMOChieti, Italy

Pino Di Giacomo, works as a general practitioner and he is a photographer by passion for 35 years. He is currently using a Nikon D5100 with Nikon 18-55 mm and 55-200 mm lenses. He has interest in the photographic analysis of the territory through architecture and landscape, but for some years has been especially dedicated to minimalist photography, in its various aspects, which is the type of photos based on the concept that "less is more" , which allows to observe reality in its most essential and schematic aspects remaining faithful to the idea that "the hardest thing in photo-graphy is to stay simple (Anne Geddes)"
