The fifth AMI international conference, Minerals in Compounding 2010 will take place December 1-2, 2010 at The Hilton Atlanta, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Minerals are a major proportion of the additives used in compounding polymers and many have multiple functions to add value, for example as flame retardants, antiblock and pigments. There is also a role as fillers. At the top end of the value chain are the nanoclays in nanocomposites. The mineral particle size, shape, surface area and matrix compatibility are all important factors affecting performance. It is also critical to understand mineral chemistry to choose the best products for each polymer. Surface treatments and modifiers can be utilized to improve mineral-polymer interaction and dispersion. Alternative materials such as natural fibers are being used to replace mineral fillers, a topic that can be debated at the conference.

Minerals in Compounding 2010 offers lively interaction between an international panel of speakers and delegates which stimulates debate in all sectors. The event also provides a comprehensive overview of the latest material, technology and market trends.

LITERATURE DISPLAYIf your company is unable to send personnel to the conference, you can still make your presence felt by using our literature display service. Send your brochures or company information to the conference and we will display them for delegates to collect at their leisure. The cost for this service is $400.

SOCIAL EVENTSThe social events organized for Minerals in Compounding 2010 will provide an ideal setting for delegates and speakers to mix business with pleasure. On the first evening, everyone is warmly invited to attend the welcome cocktail reception which will follow the first conference session.

SUBSTITUTIONS / CANCELLATIONSDelegates may be substituted at any time at no charge. We ask that you provide ample notification of substitution in order that materials can be prepared. Full refunds, less an administrative charge of $200 will only be made on cancellations received prior to November 1, 2010. We regret that we cannot make refunds on cancellations received after this date or for no-shows at the conference.
