ABOUT MINECRAFT

• Minecraft is a multiplayer sandbox building game which enables people to play as a virtual person and survive a virtual world full of dangers and usual resources that can be crafted.

CREATOR

• Minecraft was released on the 17th May 2009, since then other versions have been released, but the most popular versions are the Alpha and Beta versions which were released on June 28th 2010 for Alpha and December 20th 2010 for Beta.

• The official game was created by a Swedish man called Markus ‘Notch’ Persson who eventually created Mojang, who are the present creators for minecraft.

SOURCES

• There are many ways to play Minecraft but all of them require downloading, it is possible to play an offline edition which anyone can play but to play online it requires a username which must be paid for from the official Minecraft website.

• The platforms available for this game requires:

• Java platform• Java Applet• Android• IOS• Xbox 360

IN-GAME MODES

• During the game it is possible to choose between three modes that all include the initial game play, they are:

• Survival (Health bar appears, surviving is the goal)

• Creative (mainly for creating purposes)

• Classic (the old version of the official game)

OTHER

• The game is created entirely out of 3D cubes with impressive details marked onto them.

• Simple controls are using the; W, A, S, D for directional usage and numbers 1-9 for hot key item manoeuvre and the ESC and E key.

XEPHOS AND HONEYDEW

• These are to of the legendary plays who play minecraft, they upload videos that are very popular onto YouTube, many people describe these two as ‘Absolutely Hilarious!’

• They have a channel called ‘The Yogscast’

TEXTURE PACKS AND MODS

• You are able to download things called texture packs which change the graphical content from the original game setting.

• Mods are add-ons which give the game a variety of different options, items and other sources.

(TOP) This is the original gaming graphics.(BOTTOM) This is the game with a texture pack installed.

PICTURES

These pictures are slight teasers which show you how a minecraft world would turn out as it randomly spawns differently every time you log in. To the left there is a mob, they call creeper, which is one of the many mobs able to be seen in the world of Minecraft.
