Mass afforestation progromme which wos started in 1977now has 15 lokh trees in our lease area totally changing the landscape of the mine to a green belt.

For the fifth consecutive year, MSPL Limited celebrated the Ward Environment Day by invo ving students from

schools in ond around Hospet with its staff. I he students from Deepoyona, Jaycees, DuiiopurPrimary School ond

Notional School participated in the celebrations. The week-long celebrations included tree plantation, interactive

events like environmental film shows and intellectual events like Elocution and drawing competitions. The themes

for the elocution competition were a) Plastic as an alternative material is a Boon or Bane to the environment

b) Wanted — Seas & Oceans Dead or Alive ? c) Life in Antarctica today ? To mark this memorable

occasion, o function was organized in the evening. Shri. S. M. Puttobudhi, IFS, Conservator of Forests, Bellary

graced the function as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering. In his speech, Shri. S. M. Puttabudhi said

that on industrialist family celebrating World Environment Day is to be appreciated. Ths should be an example to

other industrialist families.

production requirements of VIOM. These Tatra Tippers have low maintenance air-cooled engines and an AC cafor increasing the comfort df the operator and efficient operation. These tippers replace about 50 1 0-ton tipperswith mproved emissions that match Euro II standards. The machines are imported from Czechoslovakia.

It consumes less HSD compared to other equal loading equipments.

We have collected 3,505 units of blood and supplied 3,273 units till date. Even rare negative groups like A-ye, B

ye, 0-ye, AB-ve were also supplied.

Smt Vasantidevi Baldota Blood Bank, Hospet has conducted a Free Heart Check-up camp in associatiortwith

Vi jayanand Heart Center, B~llary and Bhagavan Mahaveeriain Heart CenteG Bangalore.

The camp was conducted on 5th and 6th June 2004. Totally 800 people were examined in this camp. Around 300 -

people were screened and 250 people were in need of expert opinion. On 6th June around 300 new registrations

alongwith 250 screened patients were examined by Dr. R. S. Venkatesulu, Dr. Kesav, Cardiologist and Dr..Balaji,

Diabetologist. 450 patients were administered E.C.G, 700 people for Fasting Blood Sugar and Chalestg?ol T~ts,

120 patients had 2D Echo colourdapler study. 20 children had congenial heart disease out of which;LOotthein

required emergency intervention. About 150 patients have taken Dietician opinion. About 300 patients’have

been examined by diabetologist. Free medicines were distributed to some of the affected and others were asked tO

go for further treatment to recover from their ailments. - -

Theyare regular and good workers.

obedience and punctualityin the work. Under his

supervision, plant hours, theTPH achieved 96%. Because

of his extreme efforts, waitinghours of tippers at stock yardwere minimized, resulting in

better utilization of

machinery and tippers.

Mr. W. David Mechanic merits recognition forhis timely and self- nitiation in attendingsudden failure of KPTCI power. During thismonth the 100 <VS DS set failed due jo amajor engine problem at the same time aKPTCL line pole also fell. The mines office facedmajor power problem during this time he tookthe initiative to remove the engine from Beverleyland which had stopped working For a longtime. He repaired, modified and mounted theengine in place of the 100 KVA DS set.Now the DS is running without any problem.His behavior and conduct is also good.
