HDBaseT Architecture

A special line coding scheme was developed to provide a bettertransfer quality to some kinds of data (audio, controls, Ethernet)without the need to 'pay' the protecting overhead for the video content which consumes most of the bandwidth.

HDBaseT uses a proprietary version of Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) technology, where digital data is representedas a coding scheme using different levels of DC voltage at highrates. This enables the 5Play feature-set to be maintained over asingle 100 m CAT cable, without the electrical characteristics ofthe wire affecting performance. Although HDBaseT uses thesame coding technology as Ethernet and even has an Ethernetchannel, its packet-based technology is different from thetraditional Ethernet packets. HDBaseT simply relies on thesame physical cabling which provides the inherent benefitsof the cost-effective CAT infrastructure.

50 W vs. 75 W BNCTraditional 50 W BNC connectors that are installed on 75W coaxial videocable cause digital signal distortion which results in digital transmissionerrors. The mechanical differences between the two types of connectorsare the dielectric insulators and center pins. The 75W connector employsTeflon as a dielectric and air around its outer spring fingers as comparedto Delrin surrounding the spring fingers of the 50W type. Also the 75Wconnector's center pin has the same diameter in the front and rear areaswhere the pin is crimped to the cable's center conductor; the 50Wconnector's pin has a larger diameter in the crimp area. Therefore, different crimp tools are required for two types of center pins.

However, both types on connectors mate mechanically without physicaldamage. Nevertheless, the 50W connector is adequate for analog video applications.

Is the quality of MilesTek BNC's the same as other brands?Depending on the brand, MilesTek BNC's are equal to or exceedthe quality of other competitors. For example, the MilesTek BNCplug bodies are machined from virgin brass in accordance withMIL-C39012 and then plated with bright nickel. Many other lessexpensive brands have cheaper die cast bodies. Furthermore, theMilesTek BNC body incorporates a beryllium copper wave washerto allow the BNC to flex during mating and to provide firm uninterruptible continuity of the shield signal. Teflon, the best dielectric, provides the proper dielectric for 75Ω impedance andsecurely holds the captive center pin.

How is your BNC center pin different than some other brands?In order to be true 75Ω impedance, the center pin has the same diameter in the crimp area as the mating area. Our captive BNC pinsare plated with 30 µ” of gold in accordance with MIL-G-45204.

More than 30 µ” is unnecessary for normal use. Some competitivebrands have a 75Ω body with 50Ω center pin to eliminate the necessityof a separate center pin crimper. If tested, the connector with 50Ω pinand 75Ω body produces an impedance of approximately 68Ω .

Should the BNC body have enclosed beryllium copper spring fingers?One manufacturer promotes this idea. Unless the BNC is subject toabuse such as thousands of matings and foreign objects poking intothe interface of the connector, this design is unnecessary.

What about cable pull strength?Pull strength is important on small diameter cables such as 735A.MilesTek BNC plugs have diamond knurling for maximum cableretention. Out of 3,000 to 4,000 coaxial cable assemblies,MilesTek's BNC's for 735A recorded pull test performance of 49.3 Ibs. The minimum specification is 30 Ibs.

These cable supports provide proper support of high-performancecabling, including CAT5e, higher speed copper and fiber-opticcables. The hangers’ extra-wide surfaces protect against cablebending, crimping and snagging. Two sizes accommodate upto 16 and 80 four-pair UTP cables. The 2” diameter loopwide-base J-hook can hold up to 80 4-pair UTP cables. Thesmall bundle J-hook will hold up to 16 4-pair UTP cables. Thesmaller J-hook’s unique bend-back tab provides containmentwithout pressure on cables. Both size J-hooks are made ofspring steel. Basic cable hangers (1) and (5) may be nailed,screwed or bolted to surfaces or structures. The drop wirehangers (2) and (6) have a multi-function clip that attaches ontoa vertical wire (#12 thru ¼”). TERMS OF CONDITIONS



The following are the terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions") for the saleof products ("Products") by MilesTek Corp. ("MilesTek") to MilesTek's customers("Customers"). PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY. ANY DIFFER-ENT OR ADDITIONAL TERMS SET FORTH IN CUSTOMER'S PURCHASEORDER OR SIMILAR COMMUNICATION ARE OBJECTED TO AND SHALLNOT BE BINDING ON THE COMPANY UNLESS A SEPARATE AGREEMENTHAS BEEN SIGNED BY AN AUTHORIZED OFFICER OF THE COMPANY. BYPLACING AN ORDER FOR PRODUCTS FROM THE COMPANY, OR BY ACCEPT-ING DELIVERY OF THE PRODUCTS DESCRIBED ON THE APPLICABLE PACK-ING SLIP, BILL OF LADING AND/OR INVOICE RECEIVED WITH THEPRODUCTS, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY AND ACCEPT THESE TERMSAND CONDITIONS OF SALE.

1. ACCEPTANCE AND CANCELLATION OF ORDERSAll orders are subject to acceptance by MilesTek in writing by a duly authorizedagent of MilesTek; any written acknowledgement of receipt of an order shall not,in and of itself, constitute such acceptance. Orders accepted and processed byMilesTek may not be cancelled by Customer except as covered by the LimitedWarranty. Non-Standard Parts are defined as Products which are special orders,custom orders, orders for non-standard products, products not customarily in stockor orders for value-added products. Non-standard products are Non-Cancelableand Non-Refundable and for these products, all sales are final. Cable Assembliesbuilt-to-order in our facility are Non-Standard Products and are also Non-Cance-lable/Non-Refundable („NC/NR‰). In the event of cancellation or other withdrawal ofan order for any reason and without limiting any other remedy which MilesTek mayhave as a result of such cancellation or other withdrawal, reasonable cancellation orrestocking charges, which shall include all expenses than incurred and commitmentsmade by MilesTek, shall be paid by Customer to MilesTek. Customer requests toreschedule are subject to acceptance by MilesTek in its sole discretion. Ordersmay not be canceled or rescheduled after the order has been submitted byMilesTek to the shipment carrier. MilesTek reserves the right to allocate sales andlimit quantities of selected Products among its customers in its sole discretion.Product specifications and availability are subject to change without prior notice.

2. PRICESOrders are billed at the prices (in US dollars) in effect at the time of shipment.Prices will be as specified by MilesTek and will be applicable for the periodspecified in MilesTek's quote. If no period is specified, quoted prices will beapplicable for thirty (30) days. Most current pricing will be as displayed on theMilesTek website found at www.MilesTek.com, or any of itÊs affiliated websites(e.g. www.MilesTek1553.com, and others). The catalog reflects the latest pricinginformation available at the time of printing. Prices shown in the catalog are subjectto change without notice. Prices are subject to increase in the event of an increasein MilesTek's costs or other circumstances beyond MilesTek's reasonable control.If Customer does not purchase the quantity upon which quantity prices are based,Customer will pay the non-discounted price for the quantity actually purchasedand/or a cancellation or restocking fee. Prices are exclusive of taxes, impositionsand other charges, including: sales, use, excise, value added and similar taxes orcharges imposed by any government authority, international shipping charges,forwarding agent's and broker's fees, bank fees, consular fees, document feesand import duties.

3. TERMS OF PAYMENTAll payments must be in US Dollars.

For Domestic OrdersWe accept major credit cards MasterCard, VISA, American Express, and Discover.We also offer C.O.D. and Pre-paid by wire transfer, money order, company or personalcheck (personal check will delay order up to two weeks). Open Account Credit isavailable to businesses, schools and institutions or as otherwise specified byMilesTek subject to an approved credit application. To obtain a credit application,please contact any Customer Service or Sales Representative by calling 1-800-524-7444, or (+1) 940-484-9400. Or you may download a copy of theMilesTek Credit Application form.

For International OrdersWe offer MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Discover, prepaid by wire trans-fer, cashier's check in U.S.Dollars, as well as open account credit to qualified institu-tions and businesses. We cannot accept personal checks or certified personalchecks. Money orders can result in significant delays. Payment via Open AccountCredit can be established for companies having three U.S. references. We alsooffer Pre-paid by wire transfer, a wire transfer fee of $25.00 must be included. Or-ders will not be accepted until funds have been received in full and PurchaseOrder (PO) has been received. Customer is responsible for duties and taxes.

3.1 TERMS OF PAYMENTFor All OrdersCustomer agrees to pay the entire net amount of each invoice from MilesTekpursuant to the terms of each such invoice without offset or deduction. Orders aresubject to credit approval by MilesTek, which may in its sole discretion at any timechange the terms of Customer's credit, require payment in cash, bank wire transferor by official bank check and/or require payment of any or all amounts due or tobecome due for Customer's order before shipment of any or all of the Products. IfMilesTek reasonably believes that the Customer's ability to make payments maybe impaired or if Customer fails to pay any invoice when due, MilesTek may suspenddelivery of any order or any remaining balance thereof until such payment ismade or cancel any order or any remaining balance thereof, and Customer willremain liable to pay for any Products already shipped and all Non-StandardProducts ordered by Customer. Customer agrees to submit such financial informationas MilesTek may reasonably require for determination of credit terms and/orcontinuation of credit terms. Checks are accepted subject to collection and thedate of collection will be deemed the date of payment. Any check received fromCustomer may be applied by MilesTek against any obligation owing by Customerto MilesTek under this or any other contract, regardless of any statement appearingon or referring to such check, without discharging Customer's liability for anyadditional amounts owing by Customer to MilesTek. The acceptance by MilesTekof such check will not constitute a waiver of MilesTek's right to pursue the collec-tion of any remaining balance. Invoices not paid when due will bear interest todate of payment at the annual rate of eighteen (18%) percent or such lower rateas may be the maximum permitted by law. If Customer fails to make paymentwhen due, MilesTek may pursue any legal or equitable remedies, in which eventMilesTek will be entitled to reimbursement for costs of collection and reasonableattorneys' fees. There is a $25.00 service charge on all returned checks.

4. SALES TAXOnly residents of the State of Texas need to remit sales tax. MilesTek does notremit sales tax to states other than Texas. Any sales tax due that is not collectedby MilesTek is the responsibility of the customer.

5. DELIVERY AND TITLEAll shipments by MilesTek are F.O.B. point of shipment, and the amount of alltransportation charges will be paid to MilesTek by the Customer in addition to thepurchase price of the Products. Subject to MilesTek's right of stoppage in transit,delivery of the Products to the carrier will constitute delivery to Customer and titleand risk of loss will pass to Customer. MilesTek will make reasonable efforts toinitiate shipment and schedule delivery as close as possible to Customer's requesteddelivery date(s). Customer acknowledges that delivery dates provided byMilesTek are estimates only and that MilesTek will not be liable for failure to de-liver on such dates. Selection of the carrier and delivery route will be made byMilesTek unless specifically designated by Customer. MilesTek reserves the rightto make deliveries in installments. Delay in delivery of one installment will not enti-tle Customer to cancel any other installment(s). Delivery of any installment ofProducts within thirty (30) days after the date requested will constitute a timelydelivery. Delivery of a quantity which varies from the quantity specified shall notrelieve Customer of the obligation to accept delivery and pay for the Products de-livered.

6. MILESTEK'S LIMITED WARRANTYMilesTek warrants its products to be free from defects of workmanship and material. If any such defects occur, replacement will be made without charge to our Customers.We strive to provide 100% Satisfaction for our Customers to the best of our ability.This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, and abuse. The warranty perioddepends upon the product. All products are covered by a LIMITED WARRANTYfor a period of thirty (30) days from the date of shipment when purchased fromMilesTek. Customer must notify MilesTek within 30 days from date of shipment ofany defective product. An approved Return Materials Authorization (RMA) numbermust first be obtained from MilesTek prior to the return of any merchandise toMilesTek for inspection under warranty. Shipping charges for all materials re-turned under this Limited Warranty are to be prepaid by the Customer. This war-ranty is limited to the original purchaser. MilesTek's liability arising out of anysale of products to Customer is expressly limited to either (1) Credit or refund forthe purchase price paid by Customer for such products (without interest), or (2)Repair and/or replacement of such products, found to be defective after inspec-tion by MilesTek at its main headquarters, and such remedies shall be exclusive andin lieu of all others. Implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose and mer-chantability are specifically excluded and shall not apply. Non-Standard productsas defined in Section 1 above are not eligible for return for refund. Products re-turned for refund may be subject to a 20% restocking fee. Customer's obligationsand MilesTek's remedies, with respect to defective or nonconforming products,are solely and exclusively as stated herein. Further, no warranty will apply if theProduct has been subject to misuse, neglect, accident or modification, or hasbeen soldered or altered in any way.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITIESIn no event shall MilesTek be liable for any special, incidental or consequentialdamages of any nature including, but not limited to, damages resulting from lossof profit or revenue, recall costs, claims for service interruptions or failure to sup-ply downtime, testing, installations or removal costs, costs of substitute products,property damage, personal injury, death or legal expenses. Customer's recoveryfrom MilesTek for any claim shall not exceed the purchase price paid by Customerfor the goods, irrespective of the nature of the claim, whether in warrant, contractor otherwise. CUSTOMER SHALL INDEMNIFY, DEFEND AND HOLD MILESTEKHARMLESS FROM ANY CLAIMS brought by any party regarding products sup-plied by MilesTek and incorporated into the customer's product.

8. USE OF PRODUCTS IN LIFE SUPPORT, NUCLEAR AND CERTAIN OTHERAPPLICATIONSProducts are intended for commercial use only. Products are traceable at themanufacturer's level only. Not all products have lot level traceability. Products soldby MilesTek are not designed, intended or authorized for use in life support, lifesustaining, human implantable, nuclear facilities, or other applications in which thefailure of such Products could result in personal injury, loss of life or catastrophicproperty damage. If Customer uses or sells the Products for use in any suchapplications: (1) Customer acknowledges that such use or sale is at Customer'ssole risk; (2) Customer agrees that MilesTek is not liable, in whole or in part, for anyclaim or damage arising from such use; and (3) Customer agrees to indemnify, defendand hold MilesTek harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, losses,costs, expenses and liabilities arising out of or in connection with such use or sale.

9. STATEMENTS AND ADVICEIf statements or advice, technical or otherwise, are offered or given to Customer,such statements or advice will be deemed to be given as an accommodation toCustomer and without charge and MilesTek shall have no responsibility or liabilityfor the content or use of such statements or advice.

10. FORCE MAJEUREMilesTek will not be liable for delays in delivery or for failure to perform its obligations due tocauses beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, product allocations, ma-terial shortages, labor disputes, transportation delays, unforeseen circumstances, acts ofGod, acts or omissions of other parties, acts or omissions of civil or military authorities,Government priorities, fire, strikes, floods, severe weather conditions, computer interrup-tions, terrorism, epidemics, quarantine restrictions, riots, or war. MilesTek's time for deliveryor performance will be extended by the period of such delay or MilesTek may, at its option,cancel any order or remaining part thereof without liability by giving notice to Customer.

11. EXPORT CONTROLProducts purchased or received under these Terms and Conditions are subject to exportcontrol laws, restrictions, regulations and orders of the United States. Customer agrees tocomply with all applicable export laws, restrictions and regulations of the United States orforeign agencies or authorities, and shall not export, or transfer for the purpose of re-export,any product to any prohibited or embargoed country, including but not limited to TheBalkans, Belarus, Burma, Cote d'Ivoire, Cuba, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iran,Iraq, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and Zimbabwe, or to any denied, blocked, or designatedperson or entity as mentioned in any such United States or foreign law or regulation. Cus-tomer represents and warrants that it is not: (i) on any the Denied Persons List (as compiledby the United States Department of Commerce), Specially Designated Nationals List (ascompiled by the United States Treasury Department), Debarred Persons List (as compiledby the United States State Department) or any other United States or other government listof prohibited persons; and (ii) otherwise prohibited by United States or other law from pur-chasing the products or services hereunder. Customer shall be solely responsible to obtainany license to export, re-export or import as may be required.

12. GENERALThe Terms and Conditions may not be modified or cancelled without MilesTek's writtenagreement. Accordingly goods furnished and services rendered by MilesTek are sold onlyon the terms and conditions stated herein. The sale of Products hereunder will be governedby the Terms and Conditions, notwithstanding contrary or additional terms and conditions inany order purchase order, planning schedule, acknowledgment, confirmation or any otherform or document issued by either party effecting the purchase and/or sale of Products.Notwithstanding any terms and conditions on Customer's order, the information and condi-tions on the Credit Application are controlling over Customer and MilesTek. Any conflictingstatements or terms listed on the Customer purchase orders, invoice, confirmations orother Customer generated documents ("Customer Documents") whether heretofore orhereafter submitted are negated by submission of the Credit Application and the issuanceof credit by MilesTek, and all different or additional terms and conditions contained in anyCustomer Documents are hereby objected to by MilesTek. MilesTek's performance of anycontract is expressly made conditional on Customer's agreement to MilesTek's Terms andConditions of Sale, unless otherwise specifically agreed in writing by MilesTek. In the ab-sence of such agreement, commencement of performance and/or delivery shall be for Cus-tomer's convenience only and shall not be deemed or construed to be acceptance ofCustomer's terms and conditions, or any of them. No rights, duties, agreements or obliga-tions hereunder may be assigned or transferred by operation of law, merger or otherwise,without the prior written consent of MilesTek. The obligations, rights, terms and conditionshereof will be binding on the parties hereto and their respective successors and assigns.The waiver of any breach of any term, condition or covenant hereof or default under anyprovision hereof will not be deemed to constitute a waiver of any other term, condition, orcovenant contained herein or of any subsequent breach or default of any kind or nature.Any provision hereof which is prohibited or unenforceable in any jurisdiction shall, as tosuch jurisdiction, be ineffective to the extent of such prohibition or unenforceability withoutinvalidating the remaining provisions hereof in that jurisdiction or affecting the validity or en-forceability of such provision in any other jurisdiction. The Terms and Conditions will be gov-erned by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and theapplicable laws of the United States.
