Mike Safiedine’s foray into real estate began 19 years ago at age 21 when he tagged along with a friend who was looking at houses. “I was on a showing with my friend and I met a REALTOR ® ,” he explains. “I started asking questions and I must have looked the part because he encouraged me to get licensed and join the business.” Mike took the advice and, after a few rocky years learning real estate and building a network from scratch, he hit his stride. Now, with nearly two decades experience to his credit, including a stint in mortgages, Mike has made a name for himself as a relocation specialist with Re/Max Associates in San Diego. “I started out in Michigan, so when I arrived in San Diego four years ago I knew no one,” he said. His clients became his personal friends. Today, Mike maintains these ties and earns continuous referrals by upholding a strong work ethic and making himself available to clients. “A lot of clients get nervous during the process, but they know I’m here for them, ready to communicate openly and honestly.” Mike truly believes that anyone who decides to do some- thing should do it to the fullest and maximize results in every way possible. “I do whatever it takes to help a client find or sell a house,” he says. “I exhaust every single option.” From social media updates, mailers, open houses and websites for each property to professional photography and even drone photography, he leaves nothing to chance. “Before a client lists with me, I really stress the value of maximizing their dollars.” As a result of this counsel, Mike has earned a reputation for selling homes with some of the highest prices per square foot. Mike takes his dedication to customers seriously. Al- though he primarily represents buyers and sellers in North San Diego County and out to La Jolla and as far south as Chula Vista, if he can’t with confidence help someone in a certain area, he will refer them to an agent he trusts. “If I don’t have a trusted agent in a particular area, I won’t refer them to just anyone. I want to know they’ll be treated the way I would treat them.” That’s because Mike believes he is in the relationship business more than the real estate business. “I’m not just doing transactions. I build rapport with people over time and we maintain that trust.” Even after 19 years in real estate, Mike admits he knows he’s just scratching the surface of the potential to succeed. He has a long, bright future ahead of him, but plans to grow his business meticulously. “I prefer slow growth toward becoming the best agent in the coun- ty,” he says. And by “best” he doesn’t mean by volume. “Maybe it’s people saying, ‘Mike is by far the most sincere person I’ve run into’ or maybe it’s by word of mouth. I just want to be the best I can in everything I do.” He aims to be the best REALTOR ® , the best hus- band, the best dad, the best friend. Speaking of family, Mike’s use of personal time serves as a good example for other REALTORS ® . When he’s not helping people find or sell homes across San Diego County, Mike makes a point of carving out free time. “Even if it’s hanging out or going to the zoo with the family or going on a date with my wife, I make a point of enjoying my time off. It rebuilds me.” Rejuvenation and time with family give him the motivation for what he does. “I guess you could say it’s my ‘why.’” Mike is also motivated by his ability to give back. His office is closely affiliated with Children’s Miracle Network and also runs frequent food drives in San Diego. “I believe in karma and that in giving you receive,” he says. “But you shouldn’t give in order to receive; you’ve just got to give and let go without any expectations.” MIKE SAFIEDINE Copyright Top Agent Magazine To learn more about Mike Safiedine, visitmikesremax.com, email [email protected] or call 858.609.9609
