He has enjoyed working with local growing businesses in a wide variety of positions from sales and marketing to website development. Prior to joining The Startup Garage, Mike was the Marketing Manager of Jackrabbit.com, a website dedicated to providing technology solutions to small businesses. Mike was responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan as the company launched a new online store and magazine. He spearheaded a marketing effort to identify the company’s most lucrative target markets and define and highlight Jackrabbit.com’s competitive advantages. Mike led a marketing department that incorporated traditional and online marketing strategies to reach a diverse group of small business customers in the face of competition from much larger companies. Over the course of his education at UCSD, Mike grew interested in personal development, influenced by such books as Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill and Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Mike also developed a similar passion for coaching and leading others, spending several years as a tutor and mentor for high school students, fostering an uncompromising desire to help others achieve their goals. Now, at The Startup Garage, Mike combines his acumen for startup strategy with a passion for helping others gain success, by helping new founders and CEOs bring their entrepreneurial dreams to life.
