Should You Migrate to the Oracle Cloud?
9
The Cloud Has Emerged
Research from Forbes and ZDNET predicts an increasing adoption of ERP public cloud applications in the next five to 10 years, leading to disruption of the traditional deployment of ERP applications.
While only 2 percent of Gartner survey respondents said they had
core ERP systems running in the cloud, almost half indicated they
planned to make the move within five years. These numbers
indicate that cloud ERP is rapidly making the transition from the early
adopter stage into the mainstream. “Gartner 2014”
According to Gartner by 2016, heavily customized on-premises ERP implementations will be viewed as legacy applications, and by 2018 some 30% of companies will have moved their ERP applications to the cloud.
A recent KPMG survey of 650 IT and business executives called
"The Cloud Takes Shape," concluded “Cloud computing has
moved beyond hype into its implementation phase”

Oracle EBS vs. Cloud ApplicationsA Comparative Assessment
24
EBS vs. Oracle SaaS/Cloud Services
Mature product and technology
Complete functional footprint for public sector
Can be hosted and on-premise
Can be customized
Limited and often difficult reporting tools
Integration Interfaces are all custom processes
Full access to database and “back-end”
Requires substantial IT staff for basic support and maintenance
Not Oracle’s future direction
Newer product merging the best of EBS, PS, and JDE with better technology
Functional footprint is expanding SaaS only
No customizations but lots of configuration tools
Vastly improved ad-hoc reporting capabilities and tools
Standardized interface/integration tools and processes
Reporting access to “back-end” No traditional DBA type roles are needed;
role of IT changes from maintenance to a service organization
Oracle future direction

EBS vs. Cloud
Oracle Cloud offers a variety of new features that are available including:
– Process Monitoring: Exceptions are proactively presented to the users and they no longer have to search for problems.
– Multi-Dimensional Reporting: Oracle Cloud Applications offer secure, self-service access to live reports based on your data. There is also embedded business intelligence within the Cloud Applications.
– Ad Hoc Queries in Excel: Using the Smart View tool from Hyperion which is built into the Oracle ERP Cloud Applications, an Excel spreadsheet to develop reports based on live data from your applications.
– Improved User Experience: Oracle ERP Cloud Applications suite looks and feels more like a typical consumer website.
– Mobile Capabilities: While access to EBS from mobile devices is now being selectively deployed by Oracle (e.g., iExpenses), Oracle Cloud is fully mobile.
– Social Capabilities: Oracle Cloud has embedded social capabilities.

A Framework and Roadmap for Migration

Key Considerations
Licenses and Oracle Customer 2 Cloud Program
Support and Maintenance
Implementation
33
Oracle Customer 2 Cloud (C2C) License Program
Shelve active licenses and apply support fees to subscription for Cloud Applications (within same pillar) – ULAs have special conditions
Six months of support relief during transition period
Allows for safe return to on-premise licensing (no penalty) at a later date, if desired
Support repricing is waived and existing support contract price will be reduced by the support price of the licenses being terminated
34
Oracle Application Support Agreements for EBS
35
Implementation
No upgrade path from EBS to the Cloud
Requires a re-implementation on Cloud
Provides a chance to restructure chart of accounts and improve workflow
37
The Implementation Methodology is Completely Different
% of the work completed before “kick-off”
Process adoption, not design
Pre-built interfaces, conversions, training
Users understand modern technology
Direct user access to data and business intelligence
Iterative configurationand testing process
38
Implementation Roadmap & Approach – CherryRoad Approach
Conduct Assessment (1 month)
– Review EBS usage and Cloud functionality
– Finalize Cloud modules to be implemented
– Prepare plan and estimated costs for implementation
Review Licensing Considerations (1 month)
– Get demonstration of applicable Cloud solutions
– Review Oracle Customer 2 Cloud
– Determine licensing requirements on Cloud
Select Implementation Partner and Approach (2-3 months)
– RFP processes as needed
– Cloud Implementation Methodology
Migrate EBS to Cloud (9-18 months)
– Phased?

Contracting Made Easy – NASPO ValuePoint
The Problem:
States, state agencies, cities, counties, K-12 etc. were bogged down by the procurement process
It could easily take years to make purchases, prices were all over the place, and clients were on their own to negotiate contracts
The Solution:
Multiple states banded together and formed a multi-state procurement cooperative – NASPO ValuePoint
NASPO ValuePoint provides participating entities access to high-quality solutions quickly and efficiently without having to issue an RFP
– Quicker time to purchase
– Quicker time to value
– Best value, reliable, competitively sourced contracts that offer outstanding pricing
CherryRoad is certified as a full-service Cloud Solution Provider in three Cloud areas:
