As a center of learning, Mie University strives to contribute towards the “Development of Human Resources and Research,” enhancing the “Welfare of the Society,” through the “Harmonious Coexistence of Nature and Mankind.” International Activities Alumni in Thailand We provide world-class community-based education and research results through harmonious coexistence of nature and mankind. It was inaugurated on October 1st, 2005, as a special facility for research and education. It aims through international education and research to nurture human resources contributing towards and to promote globalization on campus and in the community. In addition, CIER plays an key role in carrying out international activities. Thai Students’ Association in Japan under the Royal Patronage has a long history of 76 years holding about 1,000 Thai students all over Japan. A graduate student of Mie University, was taking a role of representative for the 72nd to the 74th as the Mie Prefecture’s head. Currently, a student of Mie University is taking over the role for the 75th head. There are several events all through the year. In April: Awarding Ceremony for the appointment of heads; in May: Thai Festival in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya; in November: Thai-Japan Conference. They actively enhance our friendship between Thai and Japan through cultural events and being a bridge for our strong bond. In addition, Old Japanese Students’ Association, Kingdom of Thailand was established in January, 1966, supporting alumni networks and students who wish to study in Japan. Tri-U International Joint Seminar & Symposium Our Philosophy The Center for International Education and Research This is an academic seminar for students to enhance their international experiences, which is held every year at one of the three founder universities (Mie University, Chiang Mai university in Thailand, and Jiangsu University in china) in turn since 1994. Bogor Agriculture University, Indonesia, was newly added as one of the host universities from 2011. In 2018, the 25 th Seminar & Symposium was held at Chiang Mai University. At the conference, students from invited universities present their research papers in English on the themes of “Population, food, Energy and Environment to Sustainable Society”. It includes full exemption of admission and tuition fees during the standard years of graduate study.
