Splash Pad & Mini Pop-Up Play Week

Several of our programs will take place at your local splash

pad the week of August 19-23 as we celebrate

summer in your community. See below for details.

Play, Learn & Grow Program Descriptions

Movin’ and Groovin’ – Join us for a fun and interactive music program where we will learn new songs, play with instruments, and

find ways to move our bodies.

Cooking with Kids – Join us for a fun learning experience while making your own food item to eat or take home. Together we will

practice many early literacy and numeracy skills and fine motor skills while we stir, cut, and create.

Exploring Science – Join us as the children experience the wonder of science while trying new skills and finding out about the world

around them.

Storytime with the Librarian – Our local librarians will visit each location to meet all of our families and share a together time

Pop-Up Play This “loose parts” playground provides a space for kids to rediscover creative & imaginative play using a variety of

materials such as tape, rope, sono tubes, cardboard, balls & fabric to create and build.

Healthy Start Infant Drop-In – Speak to a public health nurse about your baby. For more info visit https://www.healthunit.com

Play & Learn – is a drop in program full of activities for children 0-6 years and their parent/caregiver. Learn and have fun together

with your child exploring a variety of creative opportunities for learning through exploration, play and inquiry. This program uses

a play based learning approach.

Baby Time – is a drop in for babies 0 to 12 months and their parent/caregiver. Siblings are welcome. Meet other parents and share

in parenting topics, brain games, singing and circle time with your children.

Step into K— This 4-day program will reinforce literacy, self-help, name recognition and social skills for children in preparation for JK

this fall. Pre-registration is required.

Outdoor Classroom—Our organic environment encourages child-initiated play leading to a connection with nature. Dress to get

messy!

Bubbles and Babies—Bubbles are an activity for you and your child to do together. We will discuss the importance of bubbles, learn new songs to sing while using bubbles, and you will get to take some bubbles home with you.

Visit to Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Hall— We’ll meet at the fire hall at 10am on August 14 to learn more about fire safety, tour the fire

hall and the fire trucks.

Visit to the Strathroy Ambulance Station— We’ll meet at the ambulance station at 10am on August 20 to learn more about general

safety and tour an ambulance.

Park Play Days– Check the calendar for locations, dates and times. Don’t forget to dress appropriately and wear sunscreen and bug

spray and bring water!
