Last week we held the 2012 Grazia

Style Awards and as a 600-strong

crowd of fashion’s finest flooded the

Madinat Jumeirah for our annual event,

we were treated to a night of sheer

fabulousness. Co-hosted for a second

year running by Henry Holland, who

this time was joined by the gorgeous

Poppy Delevingne, we also welcomed

guests of honour, designers Andrew

Gn and Christian Louboutin. And oh,

what a night it was! With categories

recognising regional and International designers, bloggers and

our most stylish readers, enthusiasm and competition reached

fever pitch. Find out all the gossip from this year’s awards from

page 36. With so much excitement and anticipation surrounding just

one night, we’re all feeling quite sad it’s all over. Still, you can

always count on Kim Kardashian to steal the spotlight. Just

as we’re reeling in exhaustion from fashion’s big night out,

the news wires went into overdrive that the star was spotted

leaving Kanye West’s company after a 24-hour date. And she

had the look to prove – it’s on!

Also this week, it seems Karl Lagerfeld has been aiding

Adele’s designer bag collection. In a bid to apologise to the

star after calling her “a little fat”, the designer has reportedly

instructed his staff to shower her with Chanel bags. Whatever

next? A Cha-dele campaign? Most people just send flowers.

17 and i went to new York

for the launch of the Versus

collection and Gianni was there

and Kate Moss, and i knew i

had to be in fashion.

What does Grazia mean to you? when Grazia

first started in europe i said, “why a new

magazine? there are so many magazines.” And

i just said to my team, i wish them the biggest

success but i don’t see how it could work. But

years later, i realised it’s a really good formula

and i take great pleasure in looking at Grazia,

and Grazia Middle East follows the same good

path. What’s your most memorable experience

in fashion? it’s a very simple answer actually.

when Mr Yves saint Laurent, the man himself,

after having seen a shoe i had drawn inspired

by his work, for his last show, his farewell to

the fashion world, he did the most magnificent

show and he asked me to do the shoe for the

last part of it. to be asked to be a part of his

history. i was really mesmorised. How did you

decide on the shoes for tonight's event? i always

start with the shoes and these are the only ones

during my trip to dubai which i hadn’t worn.

And for the Grazia style Awards i thought the

black and silver tip would be best.

How does it feel to win the Best Boutique award?

hussein: if you’d asked us a year ago, if we’d have

been nominated or even shortlisted we wouldn’t

have dreamt of it so we’re both really honoured.

How long did it take you to get ready tonight?

Maha: i’d say 10 hours for me and 10 minutes

for hussein. How did you pick your outfit?

Maha: it’s Bambah from head to toe and it defines

who i am – funky, feminine, different.

How would you describe Middle Eastern style?

Maha: Unique, eclectic, out-there.You voted, then voted again, and finally the wait is over… Introducing the
