Speaking test 2

Part 2Candidate 1: Well, in the first picture there is a nursewearing a white uniform and in the second picture there’sa man on a construction site. He is not a constructionworker because he is wearing because he is wearing a suitand he has some drawings in his hands. I think he is an

architect. In the first picture, the nurse is talking to apatient while in the second picture the architect is havinga discussion with a colleague, or maybe an engineer. Ithink it would be rewarding to do both of these jobs, butfor very different reasons. First of all, I’m sure nurses feelsatisfied when patients get better and that’s their reward

for doing a very hard and stressful job. On the other hand,I guess an architect must feel satisfied when the buildingproject is finished. It’s also stressful, of course, because alot of things can go wrong.

• Part 2Candidate 2: Actually, I’ve wanted to be an

architect since I was a little girl. I love

drawings and making models of buildings. My

friends say I’m very good at that.

Speaking test 2

Part 2Candidate 2: In the first picture, we can see a detachedhouse with a lovely front garden which seems to be in aspacious area. In the second picture, I see a flat with abalcony and a view of the city. Both types of accommodation look new and have a contemporary

design. The main difference between the pictures, though, has to do with space and location. The house is morespacious as it is located in the residential area. The flat isless roomy because it may be in the city center. I woulddefinitely prefer to live in a house for the reason that Ienjoy the space they would offer. Besides, living in a

residential area means less air and noise pollution. I likethe idea of having barbecues and parties in the garden orhopping on my bike and cycling around the area.

Speaking test 2

• Part 2Candidate 1: I would definitely go for the flat.

A flat close to the city center would give me

access to different types of entertainment

and I wouldn’t have to worry about moving

around as the public transport networks are

usually very good in the city.
