Full day hands on workshop for teacher students and facultyPre-service students and faculty learn how to incorporate 21st century skills, specifically communication, collaboration, critical thinking and technology literacy skills into high quality teaching and learning. Pre-service teachers will leave workshop with tools and skills they can use in teaching pracs.
On-line follow-up module
After the workshop, participants independently complete an interactive, on-line module reinforcing what they learned in the workshop.
Participation in communities of learning
Join an on-line community of innovative teachers eg Partners in learning Network, who share best practices and resources for using technology in the classroom to strengthen teaching and learning.
Follow-up student projects
Transfer what was learned in the workshop to R-12 setting.

• This programme is being piloted across the world and in South Africa in 2010
• A day seminar will be held for Deans of Schools of Education alongside the WW Innovative Education Forum in October 2010 to introduce the Teacher Education Institution (TEI) Toolkit
• From 2011, Microsoft and our partners will be supporting interested Universities/Teacher Training institutions in running workshops on:
• using the TEI toolkit, evaluating current status and planning implementation for moving along the continuum
• modelling use of the pre-service teacher training courseware
• opportunity to adopt, customise and collaborate to contribute content to the pre-service TT courseware
