Leave all current versions of Microsoft Office installed. Only remove Outlook and install Outlook 365.

Remove all versions of Microsoft Office suites and install the Office 365 Suite.

Install Microsoft 365 side by side with current installed version of Office.

Make Office 2010 Sp2 and 2013 the new company standard. Upgrade all devices to Internet Explorer 11. Use App-V to virtualize applications with compatibility issues.
Roll Out Plan
All critical applications must be virtualized and tested for compatibility.
Using Microsoft System Configuration Center Manger we will update all current devices with Service Pack 2 that have Office 2010 installed. The source techs currently use to install Office will be updated with the proper version also.
All devices with Office 2003 and 2007 will be upgraded to Office 2010 Sp2 before migration.
The final step is to migrate users onto the new off premises Exchange database.

The BayCare Desktop Infrastructure has recognized the benefits and risks associated with migrating to Microsoft Office 365.

Office 365 allows users the capability to communicate and collaborate anywhere there is an Internet connection.
Office 365 utilizes Application Virtualization “App-V” technology giving it the ultimate flexibility.
Risk
Meeting minimum requirements in this type of environment is very difficult.
All app owners must test theirs applications for Compatibility issues.
Office 365 being a brand new design may be difficult for users to adapt to.
Final Recommendation
Come to agreement on EA licensing agreement.
Setup and configure off premises Exchange database.
Test all applications for compatibility and resolve issues.
Bring environment up to current standards to exceed minimum requirements.
Provide training preparation and material to aid the user transition.
Migrate user mailboxes into the cloud.
