What is the Daly Ralston Resource Center? The Daly Ralston Resource Center houses over
3000 science and health-related materials.The
right teaching materials can make all the
difference in the implementation of hands-on
science and health lessons. Any SFUSD teacher
and UCSF volunteer can borrow materials for
use in San Francisco’s public schools.
The collection includes specimens, charts,
models, books, kits, videos, lesson plans, and
other scientific equipment.The materials
support a broad range of science and health
topics – biology, chemistry, earth science,
physics, nutrition, and more. Equipment is
generally available in sets of 20, facilitating
students’ hands-on access
to materials.
The Resource Center is
often a place for
collaboration and sharing
of ideas. Many a lesson has
had its birth in the
Resource Center! We
encourage you to visit!
How do I borrow materials from the Resource Center? The first step is to come by or to call. After a
brief orientation you can borrow materials,
usually for a week at a time.
How do I know if you have what I want? You can browse the collection online at
http://www.ucsf.edu/sep and find out
what’s available. You can also call us at
415-514-0585.
Can I reserve materials? You can reserve materials in person or by phone.
When are you open?Monday - Friday: 3 - 6 pm
What is SEP?The Science & Health Education
Partnership (SEP), founded in

support quality science education for
K-12 students.
SEP is currently funded by the California Science Project,
Genentech Foundation, Howard Hughes Medical Institute,
National Center for Research Resources of the National
Institutes of Health, SD Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, Silicon
Valley Community Foundation, UCSF Chancellor’s Office.
and UCSF School of Medicine.
