description

Our graduates over the years are now some of the most proficient cosmetic tattoo technicians in the industry. We attribute this to not only the intensiveness of our training, but because we limit our class size to provide hands-on instructions with two instructors for every five students to ensure each one receives the undivided attention of our teachers.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT 27

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTAs a constantly evolving corporation, I have occasion to re-write this section from time to time and it seems like only yesterday that I was discussing how our company came to be. How we recognized a need for a centre such as ours in Canada and the fact that we did a lot of research and development into advanced training techniques, anesthetics and quality equipment and supplies for the Canadian market, prior to opening our doors.

The fact that we have just entered our 22nd year in business, and that we can boast with pride of having students and clients from around the world is an accomplishment that speaks well of our training facilities, our products and our staff who have made it happen.

One of our crowning achievements was the development of the Signature Series, our own line of cosmetic tattoo pigments which has grown to 56 colors and something that I am personally very proud of. It took a lot of trial and error, consultations with chemist and laboratories, research, and in general, perseverance, but we are proud to say that not only do we export to 33 countries but after 22 years the product has passed the test of time.

All of our pigments that you will use in our school and eventually in your own practice are developed from FDA approved ingredients. The iron and titanium oxides we use are stabilized in a clear dispersing solution and is not made with alcohol.

Our tattoo machines have evolved alongside the company and have moved into the 21st century of computerization. The Nouveau Contour Intelligent machine and the Digital 700 have given an entire new perspective to the business of cosmetic tattooing, both with the ease of application as well as the speed and comfort of the procedure.

Our successful foray into advanced workshops for new and seasoned technicians was broadened as a result of an applauded presentation and interactive workshop on color management, which was presented to the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals in Las Vegas. Expanded to a full day training event and re-named Color through the Skin these sessions bring together technicians from across North America to participate in color management, modification and correction.

The construction of a new website that serves as an information centre which will keep our clients abreast of new items, trade-shows and special events also has incorporated e-commerce which will allow customers from around the world to order on line as if we were around the corner.

As of January 2005 our new modern facility affords us increased student capacity additional instructors and a new trend atmosphere for everyone participating in our training school.

We are very proud of our accomplishments and where we have come from, and we are very excited about where we are going, so it is our pleasure to invite you as a potential new student to be part of our next 22 years in business.

Pat Shibley-Gauthier

Each of us has unique interests, skills and talents, and it is when we act from our hearts, with our minds, through our hands that we are most satisfied and effective. Give yourself the chance to learn and give us the chance to teach you.

COSMETIC TATTOOINGAN ART FORM

Your inquiry into our Permanent Make-Up and Corrective Cosmetic Training Course is the first step towards a satisfying and profitable career up-grade.

You are obviously a professional with a view to increasing your range of medical treatments or beauty services, to offer your clientele. The addition of cosmetic tattooing will certainly increase the income and profit level of your practice but it will also keep your client from going elsewhere for a service you don’t provide.

In your line of business, a client patronizes your clinic or salon for two reasons. First they care about their appearance and second they are satisfied with the service and services you provide. They feel you care about how they look as well so it is important to your business that you make all efforts to keep yourself up-graded in the services being offered elsewhere.

We recognize the importance of the above to professionals such as yourself but in the cosmetic tattooing industry being able to say you have this service to offer is not enough. Remember, this is PERMANENT! You need, and the nature of the service demands, that you have the best possible training that is available to you.

The Micro-Pigmentation Centre Inc. offers the latest advancements in procedural techniques as well as offers the highest standards in equipment quality and products.

Our courses teach you not only the mechanics of cosmetic tattooing but the properties and blending of pigment colors, topical anesthetic use, cross contamination and much more as described in the Course Curriculum.

We are proud to say that our reputation for quality training and an intensive curriculum has brought us doctors, nurses, estheticians and spa owners from around the world.

We supply our products to hospitals, plastic surgeons and estheticians across North America as well as export to Australia, England, France, Germany, Mexico, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South America, Spain, Switzerland and China to name some of the 29 countries we deal with.

We don’t suggest that you immediately sign up for our course because of a few words on a piece of paper. Review the enclosed information and investigate other training centers and what they have to offer.

If we are your choice, rest assured that you will receive the most comprehensive training available, second to none.

TRAINING CENTRETORONTO (MISSISSAUGA) ONTARIO

CANADA

The Toronto School is conveniently located in the prestigious Airport Corporate Centre minutes away from Pearson International Airport and the three major intersecting highways # 401, # 403 and # 427.

This location houses our showroom and is also our distribution center for products and supplies.

The training area is completely equipped with all of the latest equipment and supplies for student use. Autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, pigments, anesthetics, needles, gloves and all necessary supplies are at your disposal for the duration of the course as part of the fee.

Our graduates over the years are now some of the most proficient cosmetic tattoo technicians in the industry. We attribute this to not only the intensiveness of our training but because we limit our class size to provide provide hands-on instructions with two instructors for every five students to ensure each one receives the undivided attention of our teachers. Each bed and trolley station in the practical area is equipped for each student to have their own equipment and necessary procedural supplies.

A separate room is used for theory sessions and is set up to allow you to consult with your models prior to the actual procedure. This area also houses a washing area and the sterilization equipment for client viewing and piece of mind.

The decor has been purposely structured so that it is not intimidating to students or their clients while maintaining the clinical appearance that you would expect.

STERILIZATION & CROSS CONTAMINATION PRECAUTIONS

In this day and age, sterilization is more important than ever before. We are strong advocates of sterilization and devote a lot of our time and efforts in promoting what we feel should be a mandatory requirement of cross contamination precautions to the non medical field. Our training courses teach and emphasize the necessity of safe, hygienic and sterile procedures. We support the various esthetic associations across Canada who dictate the requirement of owning a sterilizer as a prerequisite of being a member and we distribute the Prestige 2100 Classic autoclave at well below the suggested list price, in the hope that everyone will place one in their salons to protect their clients, their personnel, themselves and yes their families at home.

Our school and our courses maintain the strict standards and guidelines set forth by The Centre for Disease Control & Prevention, in Atlanta Georgia and Health Canada. Our standards, and those we promote, are further guided by the Society for Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP), a non-profit organization which educates tattooists in proper infection control practices.

Our course covers invasive procedures and debunks the myths such as the use of alcohol as a sterilizer, that boiling instruments is a sterilizing technique and all the other misinformation about sterilization practices all to prevent cross contamination from your client to you and visa versa.

BUYER BEWARE!Once your decision is made to add permanent make-up application to your portfolio of services, your next major decision is where to obtain the best training. How can you tell? What makes one training facility better than another? What are the differences?

“The Investment on your part is minimal for the financial rewards you will receive”

Now what marketing statement would not promote that? Understand that it is only true providing you know what you are doing! The only way you will know what you are doing is by receiving the best possible training available in the latest advancements and techniques. Keep in mind, this industry in one form or another, is hundreds of years old.

COURSE OPTIONS

Our training courses have been tailored to meet the demands of many hours of performing practical work versus many hours of theory.

We were the first in Canada to develop the format of a 4 day course, then a 5 day course and now a 6 day course. Our feelings on a 2 day course was that it simply did not provide enough practical hours for newcomers. We are proud of the fact that our 5 day course duration is now being copied and offered by other training schools. By forcing competitors to keep up, it will assist the industry in quality training. These six days combine practical hands-on procedures, basic theory, and after school homework. The majority of these hours are dedicated to hands-on procedures on models supplied by the school.

SIX DAY COURSE

Our practical 6 day training is in-depth, intensive and demanding. The course consist of hands-on training on models provided by the school and includes all procedures, pigment theory, sterilization and cross contamination prevention. In addition the class teaches anesthetic application, equipment education and client management and color consultation. Please refer to the course agenda on page 18. The sixth day is dedicated to specialized advanced liplining procedures and full lip fill techniques.

ONE DAY ACADEMY WORKSHOPS

One day workshops for the experienced technician who wants to perfect and upgrade their techniques and work out problem areas. Each workshop focuses on one area only, placing emphasis on eyeliner, eyebrows, lipliner, eyebrows or lip shading procedures. Course supplies, models and lunch provided by the school.

COLOR THROUGH THE SKIN – COLOR MANAGEMENT COURSES

Effectively introduced to rave reviews at the annual meeting of the Society for Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP) in Las Vegas, the successful and sought after program was brought back to Canada and expanded to a full day clinic. Color through the Skin is an interactive hands on workshop for both veteran technicians and the novice and teaches advanced color theory and management by the pigment manufacturer. Color corrections, color change prevention, the effects of melanin in the skin and much, much more. Participants work through a custom designed manual of problems areas to be corrected which is included in the fees along with a corresponding color wheel. This is a powerful Power Point interactive presentation available to graduates and seasoned veterans only.

Please click link Color Through the Skin/Areola Workshop or call the Micro-Pigmentation Centre for full details.

AREOLA NIPPLE REPIGMENTATION

Full day workshop on advanced techniques for areola/nipple tattooing on breast reconstructive clients. This workshop promises to teach and demonstrate everything you need to know to perform this procedure confidently at your clinic.Pat will demonstrate areola tattooing on a breast reconstructive patient. WHAT TO BRINGYour course fee includes 30 hours of instruction, buffet lunch, all needles, pigments, gloves and supplies that you will require for the four day training schedule.

MODELS

While models are provided by the school you can use a friend or relative if pre-arranged with the office.

All procedures are totally supervised by the instructors who will recognize your strengths and weaknesses long before any practical work has begun. If you are hesitant because you feel that a mistake in class is permanent, then put aside your fears. We have trained many students over the years and we have yet to send home a model with any permanent tattoo mistakes.

LAB COAT

A lab coat is mandatory so please be sure to put it on your list and bring it along packed with enthusiasm.

LUNCHES

The school is conveniently set up with a refrigerator, micro-wave oven and tableware. A buffet lunch is served or for those of you who wish to have that break at lunch hour and to get out and about, there are a number of eateries a short drive walk in the immediate area.
