Micro-needlingBefore&AftercareInstructionsAfterthemicro-needlingprocedure,theskinmayexperience:Redness&flushing(anyrednessshoulddecreaseovera24hourperiod),swelling&pain,tenderness,stinging,itching,somepinpointbleedingandtightness.Thesesensationswillusuallytypicallyresolvewithinhoursandmanypeopleareabletoreturntotheirnormalactivitiesthesameornextday.Somepeoplemayreactdifferentlyandmayexperiencethesereactionsforlonger.However,theygraduallysubsideoverthenext3-4daysastheskinreturnstonormal.Thereisasmallriskofsideeffectscausingtheskintoturnveryred,blister,swell,peelandlaterscabandcrust.Inseverecasesinfectionandulcerationmayresult,althoughthisisnotexpectedtooccurduetothesterilityofthedermaroller/microinjectormedicaldeviceandtheminimallyinvasivenatureofthemicro-medicalneedles.Micro-needlingtherapyproceduremaycauseareasofbruisingalthoughthiswouldnotnormallybeexpectedtooccur,theeyecontourbeingtheareaatmostrisk.Anysuchbruisingwillbetemporary.Ifyouaretakinganymedicationordietarysupplementsthatcanaffectplateletfunctionandbleedingtime,theseverityandperiodofbruisingcanbeextended,alsothepresenceofpetechiae(smallredorpurplespotsbeneaththeskin)maybeobserved.Thereisasmallriskthathyper-pigmentationoftheskincanoccuraftertheprocedure,althoughthisisnotnormallyexpectedastheepidermisoftheskinisnotremovedasaresultoftheprocedure.Failuretofollowtheadvicedetailedbelowcanincreasethisrisk.Micro-needlingBeforeInstructionsMicro-needlingisdesignedtoimprovethetextureandappearanceofyourskin.PatientswhoshouldNOTbetreatedare:

• Individualswithactivecoldsoresorwarts• Individualswithopenwounds,sunburn,excessivelysensitiveskin,dermatitisorinflammatory

rosaceaintheareatobetreated.• Individualswithahistoryofallergies,rashesorotherskinreactions,ormaybesensitivetoinfection.• IndividualswhohavetakenAccutanewithinthepastyear,orhavereceivedchemotherapyor

radiationtherapy.• Womenwhoarepregnantorbreastfeeding(lactating).• Pleaseinformthetechnicianifyouhaveanyhistoryofherpessimplex.

PreparationOneWeekBeforeAvoidtheseproductsand/orprocedurespriortoyourMicro-needlingtreatment:

• Electrolysis• Waxing• Depilatorycreams• IPL/Laser/LHE• Pleaseinformthetechnicianifyouarehavinganyotherprocedureoverthetreatmentarea.Thismay

• Retin-A,Renova,Differin(Adapalene0.1%),Tazorac• AnyproductscontainingRetinol,AHAorBHAsorbenzylperoxide• Anyexfoliatingproductsthatmaybedryingorirritating

Micro-needlingAftercareInstructionsItisadvisableto:

• Alayerofserumhasbeenappliedtoyourskin.Leavethisserumforafewhourspost-proceduretomaximisetheabsorptionoftheingredients.

• Refrainfromtouchingtheskinwithyourhandsuntiltheporeshavehadchancetoclose.• Makeupcanbeappliedoncetheskinhassettled.• Donotpickorpulltheskinwhenhealingasthismaycauseunevenresults.• Itisrecommendedthattheuseofsoaps,otherthanthoserecommendedbyyourpractitioner,onthe

treatedskinareaisrestricteduntiltheskinnormalisesandwherepossiblewarm/tepidwaterand/orgentleskincleansersareusedforcleansing.Donotscrub.Pattodryonly.

• Avoid,electrolysis,depilatorycreams,waxing,andlaserhairremovalforaminimumof72hoursaftertreatment.

• Avoidfacialproductscontainingfragrancefor3-5daysaftertreatmentasthesemayirritatetheskin.• Refrainfromintensivesunlight,saunas,sunbed,andsteambathforatleast1week.• Useadequatesunscreenprotectionwithaminimumof30SPFforatleastaweekaftertreatment.• Useofintensivemoisturiserisadvisedforatleastaweekasyourskinmayfeeldrierortighterafter

yourtreatment–thisisquitenormal.Recommendedskincareinbetweenskinneedlingsessions:Dailyapplicationofhighpotencyskincareishighlyrecommendedfollowingtheprocedurefortheaccelerationofregenerativeprocessesandconsolidationofprocedureresults.FollowthedirectionsofyourPractitioner.Althoughthemicro-needlingtreatmentiseffectiveinmostcases,itisrecommendedtohaveseveraltreatmentsassuggestedbyyourqualifiedpractitioner.Aftertheskinhashealed:AHAandBHApeelscanbeusedtosoftenandsuperficiallyresurfacetheepidermisbutonlyaftertheskinhastotallyrecoveredfromtheskinneedlingprocedure.Althoughmostpeopleexperienceimprovementoftheirskin,noteverypatientnoticesthattheirskinimprovesafterthisprocedure.LackofvisibleimprovementisnotanindicationthattheMicro-needlingtreatmentwasunsuccessful.Ifyoudonotnoticevisibleimprovement,pleasenotethatyouarestillreceivingallthebenefitsoftheMicro-needlingtreatment,suchasstimulationofcollagenproduction,improvementofskintoneandtexture,diminishmentoffinelinesandwrinklesandincreasednutrientuptakeoftheskinpostprocedure.DONOTHESITATETOCONTACTUSIFYOUHAVEANYCONCERNSFOLLOWINGYOURPROCEDURE–WEAREHERETOMAKEYOUFEELCOMFORTABLE
