Purchasing Exam – Instructor/Teacher

Step 1. Obtain URL to purchase participants from CTE Administrator.

Step 2. Make purchase.

If the person making the purchase is not the instructor administering the exam, that is fine. The

purchaser is required to identify the instructor on the checkout form. See below.

Step 3. Upon purchase, Questionmark will provision the Instructor’s user account and group

ownership. Questionmark will inform the instructor by e-mail when the account is ready for use. The

CTE Administrator will be copied on these communications.

Instructor/Teacher Role – Step by Step Instructions

How do I log in? The CTE site for the Micro-Enterprise Credential is

https://ondemand.questionmark.com/home/403025/

Once a teacher’s user account has been created in Questionmark, the teacher will receive login details

through email from Questionmark.

Step 1. Use the one-time use login link supplied in the e-mail from Questionmark or request a new

password.

The user needs to click the URL provided in the email and it will take the user to the login screen.

If the URL has expired, the user can always request a new password from the login screen which will

send a new e-mail with a new one-time use login link.

Step 2. Change your password and save your account.

How do I import my students? Step 1. Prepare your class roster using the Excel template provided.

We have prepared a specialized version of the import participants template provided from within

Questionmark. This file can be obtained from the CTE Web site and was also included in the e-mail you

received from Questionmark after purchasing participants.

Populate the template with the data of the students to whom the exam will be administered.

The below listed columns need to be filled with candidate details. You can ignore the rest of the

columns. The Organization name is the name of the School in which the students are enrolled.

• Username – Required. Must be unique.

o Use this convention - School Initials_FirstMiddleInitialLast

▪ E.g. WSHS_HowardMEisenberg

• Email – Required. Must be unique. If you do not have student email addresses, then use “dummy” addresses.

o Use this convention - [email protected] ▪ E.g. [email protected]

• Password – You can set this to be the same generic password. Students will be prompted to change their password upon first login.

o Suggested convention - School initials_Teacher last name_Date of exam ▪ E.g. WSHS_Mercer_20171004

• First Name

• Last Name

• Organization Name – School District. Select from the list provided in the Districts tab of the Excel template.

• Department Name – School Name. Select from the list provided in the Districts tab of the Excel template.

You have just created a roster for import. Save the roster with a meaningful file name (do not use the

same name as the template) and be sure to save the file as a .CSV (comma separated value) file.

Step 2: Import the roster.

Browse to People > Users and click Import Participants.

Step 3. Import the roster to your group.

From Users > Import Participants, browse to the roster .csv file you just saved and select the file so it

appears in file field. Select the group to which these students need to be added. Unless the instructor

is associated with more than once class or school, there will only be one group to choose.

Click Import. The system will display the progress of the import and confirm the number of students

imported.

How do I schedule my students for the exam?

After the students have been imported, the Teacher can schedule the participants to take the exam.

Step 1. Select the students to whom the exam will be administered.

Browse to Administration > Scheduling/Group Membership, select the students for whom the exam

needs to be scheduled. You can select multiple students by using Ctrl+click.

With the students selected, click Schedule from the menu bar on the left. For example, in the

screenshot below, both Student A and B have been selected to be scheduled.

Step 2. Specify the assessment to be scheduled.

Now, add the assessment for which the candidates are being scheduled. Click Add Assessments.

Select an assessment folder and the assessments listed in that folder will appear in the middle pane of

the dialog. In the below example, there is only one assessment.

Select the assessment and click Add, to move it to the Preview pane.

Click Done.

Step 3. Set the schedule control parameters.

The assessment should now be listed on the Assessments tab. Click Next to go to the Schedule tab.

In the Schedule set the following control parameters:

• Enable limit attempts and set to 3

• Enable set access period and set the start and end dates to the date and time of day that you

plan to deliver the exam.

• Enable require monitoring

Step 4. Ensure you have scheduled all of your students and they are schedules as members of your

group.

After making changes in the Schedule tab, click Next to move to the Participants tab.

This tab displays the candidates for whom the exam is being scheduled. Review it and click Finish to

complete the Scheduling process.

Now, the student will be able to see the exam when the student logs in and will be able to take it.

How do I get a report of student scores? Once the students have taken the exam, Teacher user can obtain a report of students by school and

status.

You can use Score List report, Coaching report and/or Export to Excel report in Reporter.

Step 1. For example, to generate the Score List report, go to Reporting tab and click Score List Report.

Select CTE Teacher Report exam template.

Step 2. Click Browse against the Select assessment field and click the assessment for which you want to

generate the report.

Step 3. You can fill in details in other tabs of this report depending on what information you need. Once

you have filled in the details, click View Report.

The Score list report is generated. Coaching report is also linked to this report. If you click on the link in

the Coaching report column, a Coaching report will open up.

Step 4. You can also generate the Coaching report by going to Reporting tab and clicking Coaching

Report. Select the format (browser, email, pdf, etc.) in which you want to generate the report and click

Create New.

Step 5. Select a report template and all other details required and click Save, Distribute, or View and

Edit. If you click Save, it will be saved in the coaching reports window and you can refer to it in future. If

you click Distribute or View and Edit, it will open up in the format you have selected (in this case, pdf).

You can share this report with participants or whoever it may concern.

Similarly, you can generate Export for Excel report.

Candidate Role – Step by Step Instructions

How do I log in? When the candidate comes to the classroom on the scheduled date, the teacher will provide a generic

user id and password to the exam portal.

Click this URL: https://ondemand.questionmark.com/home/403025/ and use the login details provided

by the Teacher to login.

Students will be prompted to change their password upon first login.

How do I take the exam? After password change, candidate will need to go to the Exam/Tests tab to take the exam.

Click the Play button against the exam to launch the exam.

The Monitor Login screen will appear. The Instructor will be required to enter their login and password

for each student to access the test on the monitor login page.

Once the Instructor enters log in details, the exam is launched.

After completing the exam, click Submit button to submit the exam and exam score is displayed.
