Seamless modernization of critical energy infrastructures

MiCOM C264 iAVR is dedicated to equip HV and MV substations with single or multiple transformers. It is the essential device to ensure the voltage level and to optimize the assets in modern electrical networks. MiCOM C264 iAVR allows to retrofit, with minimum customer impact, existing application equipped with the previous generation of voltage regulator devices

(eg. RG6000).

Robust platform to contribute to energy availability

With its robust design, MiCOM C264 iAVR is perfectly adapted to the most demanding electrical substations, industrial sites (Oil and Gas, MMM, Water) and power generation plants.

Easy and fast system integration

The MiCOM C264 iAVR is ready for an easy integration over Ethernet networks based on IEC 61850.

Associated to protection relays and bay controllers the voltage regulator is the smart and compact voltage regulator brick for a quick installation in panels.

Dedicated functions for transformer voltage regulation

The voltage regulator offers natively the following functions:

• Acquisition of voltage/currents, tap position, CB position, transformer status and alarms

• Manual/automatic voltage regulation for single or multiple transformers

• Long lines drop compensation (compounding)

• Local HMI with mimic diagram, measures views, control facilities, settings (voltage targets)

• Under-voltage and over-voltage detection

• Over-current detection (option)

• End tap reached security

• For transformers in parallel mode :

- Minimization of Circulating Current (MCC)

- Master/Follower

• Tap changer and transformer monitoring.

• Reverse power flow detection leading to signalisation, blocking or or pre-defined TAP position.

Voltage regulation

iAVR has a proven voltage regulator algorithm for single and multiple transformers management.

Compared to existing AVR device, the MiCOM

C264 iAVR provides a large LCD screen with

secured access, graphical data viewing, easy

to operate control facilities, open interfaces,

fast Ethernet communication to contribute to

improve security in substations.

Local tap changer control and operation from LCD display

The control of tap changer, circuit breakers, switching devices is possible using the MiCOM C264 iAVR front panel LCD. Operating actions are simple and intuitive, directly from “graphical“ HMI. Dedicated panels are designed for data monitoring and maintenance.

Tap Position Indication (TPI) interface

The MiCOM C264 iAVR acquires the tap position indication (TPI) thru digital inputs or analog inputs.

Event logging & time stamping

The voltage regulator allows the storage of

sequence of events in non-volatile memory. Up

to 2,000 events are archived with time stamping,

in chronological order. they can be retrieved

from maintenance PC.

The voltage regulator internal clock can be

synchronized by an operator, by an IRIG–B GPS

clock (via the IRIG-B input) or by an Ethernet

SNTP server.

Data monitoring and maintenance

MiCOM C264 iAVR supports the following additional functions:

• Extra measurements calculation (powers, energy, power factor, frequency)

• Fast wave form records

• Tap changer monitoring records : number of tap changes, duration on each position

• Alarms on front panel leds and on the output contacts

• Easy settings with simple web browser.

Settings

The settings are easily accessible with the web-iAVR tool, running on PCs and tablets via a simple and dedicated web browser.

The web-iAVR interface dramatically simplifies the monitoring of transformer and OLTC by offering graphical diagrams.

Cybersecurity

The iAVR is specially hardened for respecting cybersecurity

recommendations and regulations. Users are authenticated by login and

password for accessing the front panel controls.

Embedded cybersecurity fonctionalities include:

• Hardening

• User authentication IEC 62351

• Security event logs according “Syslog” format

• Secured communication with engineering and administration tools
