Following application to the Film Studies program and approval into the major (and/or subsequent option), students must maintain a GPA within the program curriculum of 2.50 (BC), with a minimum grade of C in any required PICTURE class (those fulfilling either a Center or Alternative requirement). Students falling below this minimum will be placed on a one-semester probation, after which, if grade have not been fulfilled, students will be dismissed from the program. Pupils may apply for approval to the Film Studies program a maximum of two times (hence, students admitted into the program but afterwards disregarded may reapply once). Additional applications will not be permitted.

Movies like The Blair Witch Project are a perfect example of how a movie with a very small budget but a really intelligent story can make it to the big time. This really independent film proved to be big hit at The Sundance Film Festival in the late nineties and it was all because of the storyline. The Movie was shot and edited on video and transferred to 16mm film simply for the print that was needed for screenings at the festival. The independent filmmakers that made this film just spent about 40,000 dollars to make it and get it prepared for Sundance.

This week's Production of the Week is Alarming Images' "Halloween Manifesto" advertisement shoot. Alarming Graphics is a brother/sister directing/creative team founded in 2001 by international production designer Jack Hodge and world wide fashion and bike photographer Carol Hodge. Their varied gifts range from directing award winning commercials and corporate videos to shooting and scoring delightful mini-movies for J.Crew in places around the world.

Pictures action adventure sci-fi feature filmMan of Steel 2 ". This is the current working title of the film. Two tentative names for the brand new film were indicated by the writer - "Batman vs. Superman" or "Superman vs. Batman". Studio-level casting is underway for the lead characters in the film. Added cast will take place at a later date using an independent contracted cast director. Detroit is being touted as the place which will stand-in for Gotham City.Saturn Award victor Zack Snyder will direct "Man of Steel 2" from a screenplay written by David S. Goyer, according to a story by Snyder and Goyer. Daytime Emmy Awards winner Benjamin Melniker and Michael E. Uslan will also produce. Three-time Academy Award nominee Christopher Nolan and Academy Award nominee Emma Thomas and can produce for Syncopy. Warner Bros. will handle both national and international distribution. "Man of Steel 2" is set for a July 17, 2015 release date. The Primetime Emmy Award winning casting directors in Los Angeles and New York have been auditioning celebrities for starring and co-starring roles. Additional casting is take place in Florida, where shooting is scheduled to commence on October 20, 2013. The photo-doubles and stand ins for the pictures principal actors, including general extras and featured background actors are now cast in October and will carry on throughout creation.Cesar Montano was the guest in the first episode of "The Ryzza Mae Show" in the new year and the tandem was really fun to watch. The two had such outstanding chemistry together, Cesar showing off how he easily relates to children and the

way Ryzza warmed up to him quite well, conversing and ad libbing as they go along. Cesar said his three kids, Buching, Sam and Cheska are all fans of Ryzza and if only they were not in school, the girls would have come using their father to the studio that Monday.
