MICHELLE DAVIS PORTFOLIO

about meThroughout my seven years of experience, I have had the privilege of playing multiple different roles in the Gaming and Event Industry. From Bumbershoot to Red Bull Battle Grounds, I have a diverse scope of experience. Complementary to my involvement with some of the largest events in Seattle, I also have a strong passion for gaming. The games that I most frequently play are Overwatch, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Diablo 2, Skyrim, Fallout, and Star Wars the Old Republic. Throughout my career, I have had the honor and pleasure of working with big name companies and artists such as AEG Live, Red Bull, Valve, Microsoft, The Space Needle, Entercom, KEXP, The Washington State Fair, Seattle Theatre Group, Paul McCartney, Adventure Club, Snoop Dogg, Adele, Modest Mouse, and many more.

As a marketing and event specialist with a passion for gaming, I strive to produce every event with unmatched attention to detail, innovation, and creativity. As someone who has a large scope of experience in the event industry and as someone who is an active member of the gaming community, my passion fuels me contribute and expand the community in any way I can. When I was 19 I started the very first video game club at my college called “Press Start.” As a result, I was able to create a community of gamers and bring them together by hosting multiple LAN parties and tournaments. I was eventually able to expand our organization and became inclusive to gamers throughout the city of Seattle. My college awarded me a plaque of achievement for overcoming social stigmas and for encouraging more women to enter the gaming community

Press StartIn 2012 I founded the very first video game club at my college. I gathered a small team of fellow gamers who would be interested in helping me get it started. At the time, we only had access to old CRT TV’s, outdated equipment, and restricted internet access so our gaming options were very limited. Despite our setbacks, we worked with what we had and managed to turn it into something bigger. After demonstrating the club’s growing popularity to the school board, our school decided to allocate more funding and resources to our team. Eventually we were also able to raise enough money to host larger tournaments such as League of Legends, Hearthstone and Dota 2. After graduation, I have expanded the club to a city-wide venture and have our own city-wide tournaments and LAN parties in the works.
