Mundus Master ALGANT: Mundus Master ALGANT: an invitation to higher mathematicsan invitation to higher mathematics
• In September 2004 the European Community has selected 19 master courses, among which only one in mathematics: the master in Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory, offered by the Universities of Bordeaux, Leiden, Padova and Paris (ALGANT)
• ALGANT allows strong graduates to prepare a career in research (in academia (PhD) or in the many companies seeking the know- how taught)

Among 44 Fields medals, 11 have been awarded to mathematicians in France(Laurent Lafforgue in 2002, Wendelin Werner in 2006)
A strong mathematics tradition in France “Paris, the world’s leading center for mathematics”

Choosing mathematics studies in FranceChoosing mathematics studies in France
New fields of application for mathematics such as meteorology, epidemiology and stochastic theories, cryptography and coding theory
Today one out of every three PhD dissertations in fundamental and applied sciences in France is defended by a foreign student
