Just recently, he threatened and got changes redone – for his benefit. Pen Pals Seen 'N' Heard J ermaine Jackson, of the Jackson 5, and brother of the late Michael Jackson, arrived in Sri Lanka last week on a three-day visit. On arrival, he told reporters at the airport that he had come to Sri Lanka on the invitation of Hambantota District MP, Namal Rajapaksa, and he also men- tioned that he would be planning a mega musical concert in Sri Lanka. The singer was accompanied by his wife and two assistants. When he met President Mahinda Rajapaksa, at the President’s House, on the evening of August 14th, 2013, Jermaine presented the President a book he wrote about his brother, Michael Jackson, titled “You Are Not Alone Michael: Through a Brother’s Eyes.” In the book, Jermaine claims his late brother, and King of Pop, Michael, was ‘’toxically poi- soned.’’ He has revealed the extent of his brother’s health woes in his book. We, in Sri Lanka, have now had two Jacksons in our midst - sister LaToya Jackson and, of course, Jermaine Jackson – while I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of seeing Michael Jackson perform, absolutely live, in Singapore, during his Dangerous World Tour. 5. Michael was ‘’toxically poisoned’’ – Jermaine Jackson O ne gets the impression that singer, Dalreen, is on a low key where her music is concerned, but it’s not quite so. The reason we don’t hear much about Dalreen, in the scene here, is because she is quite often abroad, doing her thing. She was in Doha, Qatar, for three years – spread over a three-contract period. Her most recent was an eight-month contract. She was seen and heard performing nightly at the Orion Pub/Lounge of the Radisson Blu Hotel, on the 9th floor. Doing retro music, unplugged, she had for company Raffi, on grand piano/vocals, and Bonny, on guitar/vocals, and the trio per- formed to an audience of ex-pats British, American and middle easterners. Performers at the Radisson Blu Hotel The music, they dished out, was said to be the talk-of-the- town, with a crowd of 350, on a daily basis, and on weekends close on 500 per night. It was a very mixed crowd and very appreciative, said Dalreen, who returned to the island for the Ramadan break. However, the singer couldn’t enjoy the holiday break, fully, as her fans, Down Under, wanted to see her in action in that part of the world. She left for Australia, last week, for concerts, in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Dalreen will be involved in three Spitfire re-union concerts, featuring members of the original line-up that performed at Ceylinco Hotel Sundown Dances in the ‘70s. Seen in action at these concerts will be Dalreen, Desmond de Silva, Maxi Rosairo, Sohan Peiris, Budrin Musafer (the lead vocalists), along with with Ronny, Felix, Manriks, Hassan and Mohan. 2. Star Track Album Tuesday 20th August, 2013 D ebbie Rowe, the former nurse, who was married to Michael Jackson for three years (until 1999), and is the moth- er of his two eldest children, Prince Michael, 17, and Paris, 15, testified in the Jackson family’s wrongful death lawsuit against concert promoters, AEG Live, that Paris attempted suicide because of Michael’s death in 2009. Speaking in court, in Los Angeles, last Thursday (August 15th, 2013), she said: ‘’Their father is dead...I almost lost my daughter. ‘’She is devastated, she tried to kill herself. She doesn’t feel she has a life anymore.’’ Debbie gave up custody of the children complete- ly when she and Michael split and said she had no regrets about leaving them with him. She added: ‘’Michael wanted to be a father. I did- n’t sign on to be a mom. I loved him very much and I still do. I wanted him to be a father, I wanted him to have everything that he didn’t have growing up, wanted him to experience it with his own child, his own children.’’ The Jackson family is suing AEG Live, as they believe the company negligently hired and super- vised Dr. Conrad Murray, who is currently serving four years imprisonment for involuntary manslaugh- ter as he administered the lethal dose of Propofol, which killed Michael. During her testimony the previous day, Debbie claimed her former employer, Dr. Arnie Klein, and Dr. Steven Hoefflin, held a ‘’p***ing match’’ to see who could supply the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker with ‘’better’’ drugs. She said: ‘’Michael had a very low pain tolerance and his fear of pain was incredible. I think the doc- tors took advantage of him that way.’’ Michael allegedly trusted them to prescribe him with medication but they did not act in his best inter- est as they consistently tried to outdo each other by giving him stronger doses of painkillers, such as Diprivan and Demerol. She said: ‘’These idiots were going back and forth the whole time, not caring about him,’’ adding that Dr. Conrad Murray then ‘’got in there and killed him’’.
