1. Warm up – Technique and Possession 20m 2a. Group 1 – Forwards and wide players 20m 2b. Group 2 – Defenders and midfielder 20m 3. Complete Group – 6v4 Quick Games – 20m 4. Complete Group - Free Play – 20m Three groups of 6 players. Two touch combination play. Play out go out 3v3 +3 neutrals. Possession game to play forward and out to target neutrals The forwards and wide players work on movements to come off the line; to play between defenders and to make runs off the opponents shoulders (blindside) Wide player off the line and between full back and centre back. Now the wide player is in a position to attack centre back and shoot at goal Wide player now has overlapping full back to use in order to provide a cross for the centre forward Now wide player slides a through pass for the centre forward to make a blindside run Ball now goes to full back 1 st , the wide player now makes a 2 nd run to receive a ball down the side of the defence midfielder passes to the GK and runs to create a diamond with the two defs. Can we play out 4v2 to waiting midfielder? GK, 4 defenders and 2 midfielders play out 7v5 against reds. Team must complete 5 passes to score a goal Two teams 10 v 10 game in half a full size pitch Tight spaces force players to make quick decisions in possession. Small distances allows for interchanges in position and quick combination play through overlaps and one-twos. Four red players must defend their goal against the four blue attackers. The blue attackers are helped by the two yellow wide players who come off the line to disrupt the red teams defence and encourage forwards runs on the outside.
