Old age and dilapidation has taken its toll on a bridge spanning a special regulation trout fishing area in a pristine river. The bridge was completed in 1903 and has great historical significance to the development of early townships in the area. There is growing public debate as to whether the bridge should be repaired or replaced. If replaced, then a temporary bridge/roadway will be created to divert traffic during construction. Your are a member of a local transportation planning committee that has been tasked with conducting a feasibility study to determine the most appropriate action to take regarding the repair or replacement of the historic bridge.
Discuss and record the project concerns related to your Focus Group
Be sure to note occupations your group feels might be represented in your Focus Group
“Engineering of the bridge or crane operator”“Engineering would be interesting because you
could design the bridge and you could build it. Crane operator would be interesting also, lifting beams into place.”
-Kyle S.“DEC, Operator, laborer, engineer, etc.”“The jobs I listed above are interesting to me
because they are jobs I would want to do.”-Josh A.
