Fine Art, Furniture and Decorative Arts Auction June 12, 2009 at 10am Previews: June 5 - June 8

This weeklong event features a strong collection of traditional and contemporary American furniture and art. Highlighting the sale is a George Innes pastoral landscape with church from an old California family collection and an extraordinary sample of an east coast icon, J. & J.W. Meeks to be sold at this west coast gallery. European art is represented with traditional works by Hermann Planther, Claude Picault and Franz Xaver Pieler balancing contemporary works by Russian Alexander Kosokapov and Anatoly Krisochenko. Outsider and self taught artists will shine at Michaan’s. A hunting party scene by Louisiana’s Clementine Hunter nicely reflect the large collection of portraits and farm workers painted by South Africa’s Frans Claerhout.
