Mental Health America in Montgomery Announces New Executive Director Brittany K. Wiggins will be serving as the new Executive Director Montgomery, AL. — The Board of Directors of Mental Health America in Montgomery is pleased to announce the appointment of Brittany K. Wiggins as the new Executive Director of the organization.

“Brittany has been with the organization for over two years and has proven herself to be a great servant to those affected by mental illness and needing help,” states Jon D. Howe, President of the Board. “She’s also excelled at being a vocal advocate for mental health issues and has represented our organization very well in the community. We’re delighted for her to be taking on this additional challenge and responsibility as our new Director. We, as a board, stand behind her 100% and will work together to help her increase the level of services we already provide to people in need.”

As the new Executive Director, Brittany will be responsible for implementing the overall goals and policies established by the Board of Directors of Mental Health America in Montgomery, including but not limited to, the care and empowerment of clients that we serve everyday, the education and promotion of mental health, and the advocacy and development of services that benefit the mentally ill.

Brittany earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation from Troy University in 2009 and is expected to graduate in May of 2013 with a Master of Education Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling. Brittany is a member of numerous honor societies, professional organizations, and serves as President for the Board of Directors for The ClearView, Inc., Montgomery’s only drop-in center for individuals with mental illness. She has completed internships with the Alabama Department of Youth Services, Autauga Campus and Hillside Mental Health Center in Wetumpka, Alabama.
