FOOTBALL DICTIONARY

•  Fly-(n) A route that is just a straight line down the field.

•  Blitz- (v)This is a play that any person on defense expect the line can do. When you blitz you charge the quarterback has quickly has possible.

•  Fumble-(n) Is where the ball falls out of the players hands without him being down and then the ball can be recovered from there.

•  Interception-(n) Is when the defence picks off the ball instead of the wide receiver on offence.

•  Down block-(n and v) Is where the line shifts down to block the person down to them.

•  Screen-(n) Is a pattern that involves blockers and a receiver behind the line of scrimmage.

•  Touchdown-(n) Is where a team has scored in a designated area.

•  Squib Kick-(v) Is where the kicker on the kickoff team Kicks it hard but not far but not short either.

Have you experienced a feeling of disappointment and dissatisfaction of yourself?

×  I have struggled for something before and it was hard because I never have before that. So when this happened to me I could not believe it did.

×  I was playing football in the fifth grade. It was almost game over. We were losing and it was kickoff. They kicked the ball to me and when I caught I was going to start running. But then has soon has I did I tripped over nothing.

×  The team was so mad I couldn’t believe it. I felt so bad. I lost the team the game and everyone was mad. I felt like I couldn’t play football.
