CommunityInformation Technology OperationsMy team is the back office, and more specifically user engagement. We are responsible for increasing the awareness and adoption of all the capabilities for Ford employees. We do this through engagement channels such as the DW website, Go Digital Go Further, and Live events7ObjectivesAnd Now Ill talk about the objectives that were given to me. 8Develop and implement Digital Worker engagement programs (Learning Circles and DW Consultancy Service)

Continue development of online portal for communicating DW Effectiveness Survey Results

Support development of voice of customer/feedback standards (focus groups, surveys) for Digital Worker Back Office Services

Provide support to Digital Worker User Engagement activities

Review current DW virtual environments and content and provide constructive recommendations to enhance by end of assignment

Support development of How to get the most out of the DW Site web-based training courseObjectivesGo FurtherDevelop and Implement Digital Worker engagement programs, This was my main objective going through the summer.9Learning CirclesGo Further

+OpportunityLearning CirclesReusable Best PracticesFacilitator(SME)

Learning Circles was by far the bulk of it. Learning Circles is a community oriented learning program that moves individuals out of awareness and into adoption of DW capabilities, it goes a step further than the GDGF program.

This Learning Circle begins with a facilitator and an opportunity, this opportunity can come from a need that a skill team has, a personal interest of an individual, or through the gathering of people across the enterprise. The facilitator is a ford employee that receives training from digital worker and is usually a SME on the learning circle topic. The learning circle produces reusable best practices or templates, that provide value for the company.

Click Slide.

Learning Circles is another way to reach out to Ford Employees wishing to increase their skill in a certain capability to increases the skill level of all members of the group, even the facilitator as the LC project is something nobody has done before. These highly skilled members then have the opportunity to bring back, and share with them the knowledge they received through the learning circle spreading these best practices.

We piloted this program for 5 weeks with 8 people, the subject was going paperless, we took metrics of LC members paper usage before and after and created a best practice that can be used through the company. These people can then share this knowledge with their team, hopefully infecting others with the urge to go paperless.

Creating this project from the beginning took a lot of time and hard work. Ive never made something from a concept and didnt know what I was in store for. Working on this project, I gained exposure to the User Engagement Process, created communications, created surveys that allowed us to take metrics for quantitative data, and learned exactly what governance was. I can proudly say that my efforts played a big part in getting this program through governance it needed and providing the necessary documentation to do so.

Support development of How to get the most out of the DW Site web-based training courseObjectivesGo FurtherMy next objective, was to continue development of an online for communicating DW effectiveness survey results.12

This page is going to be showcasing DWs efforts towards its effectiveness and provide Ford Employees with this information. I first started with a completely blank page, moved onto to discuss the pages architecture, and made a wire frame. From there I started building it out using SharePoint Designer and went through multiple iterations of reviews.

This is what the site looks like now, I took my knowledge from my previous experience as a SharePoint intern, and applied them to the DW effectiveness Results page. With a little beat tweaking, individuals are now able to leave anonymous feedback, comments, archives, view results and make some sense of it.

It was great to have my internship tailored to some of the skills I possess, and this was an awesome example of that.

DW User Engagement ActivitiesGo FurtherPicture of Me PresentingThe ongoing support of DW user engagement activities provides ford employees with channels of increasing their awareness and adoption of DW capabilities. People around me are constantly giving presentations through webex on the GDGF program, and all of DWs capabilities.

When I first started on DW my first goal was to become a Driver in the GDGF program, after persistent completion of tasks, I was able to finish the program in the first week. This enabled me to have the knowledge to help support in DW live events, and Summits, as well as give a presentation at the New Hire Orientation.16Develop and implement Digital Worker engagement programs (Learning Circles and DW Consultancy Service)

Content becomes outdated rather quickly

Found outdated content, broken links, design issues through all of the DW site and provided constructive feedback on those itemsReview Current DW Virtual EnvironmentsGo FurtherPictureDigital Worker has a lot content out there that they have to support as well as all the communications and user engagement programs. The content in the HowiWork sections, and How do Is, can become outdated rather quickly. DW capabilities are constantly being updated, and this produces a waterfall effect through all of its content.

This is important because everyday individuals are accessing this information through the GDGF program or for some kind of reference. Therefore, we need have the content as up to date as possible so employees are using most updated best practices.

I spent countless ours going through every single scenario and HowDoI, looking for old content, broken links, our even design issues that could confuse an end user. All these items are now documented and ready for review so that it may be updated. 18Develop and implement Digital Worker engagement programs (Learning Circles and DW Consultancy Service)

It can be overwhelming to new users

It can deter users from actualiy using the site

How to get the most out of the DW SiteGo FurtherThe digital worker site has a lot of content that can be overwhelming to users who have never used it before, and can also deter them from using the site.

In this web based training, the content of the site is only the most used or important features. The content is also split up into sections, so individuals do not have to watch the whole video in order to receive the information that they want.

The video touches base on preferences, searching the site, signing up for events, enrolling in GDGF , and some other subjects.

I have never used Camtasia before, so I quickly picked it up and ran with it. I mapped all the video subjects I was going to use in the form of either a script or a template of exactly what I needed, took film from podcasts that were already made, and recorded some content myself.

I then put all the information into a powerpoint that employees can use with a table of content and some slides describing the video themselves. The experience overall was extremely interesting as I have never done any kind of video editing before, and now I can use this skill for future projects that I encounter.20Internship ExperienceOverall ExperienceThoroughly impressed with Fords corporate culture and Internship structureFirst time being exposed to the business aspect of ITCreated value that will continue to provide growth for Ford

Internship ExperienceGo FurtherI was thoroughly impressed with Fords culture and the internship structure, In my past internships objectives were not layed out and work was given based on the managers decision as it presented itself. The ford culture here, really is a family, everyone is smiling and willing to help you when you need it. I never once felt like I couldnt ask for help.

This was the first time being on the business side of IT, I can say that it was definitely a break from being technical, and takes a lot more thought when doing something conceptually. I know that through the work I have done I can proudly say that I have created value as Ford continues to grow.

I have to give kudos the committee that plans all the events, especially for IT skill team. I find myself always amazed going through tours such as the Flat Rock Assembly plant, or the design lab, and always doing some networking with other interns, FCGSs ,or exectuvies at skip levels.

The opportunities I was presented through this internship were endless.

22Above & BeyondI am going to relate some of the experiences Ive had this summer back to the one ford plan, as it a crucial guideline to follow as we move forward as a business.23Above & BeyondGo FurtherI was thoroughly impressed with Fords culture and the internship structure, In my past internships objectives were not layed out and work was given based on the managers decision as it presented itself. 24One Ford PlanI am going to relate some of the experiences Ive had this summer back to the one ford plan, as it a crucial guideline to follow as we move forward as a business.25

Know and have a passion for our business and our customersEnsure process disciplineBuild strong relationships; be a team player; develop ourselves and others Enjoy the journey and each other; have fun never at others expenseKnow and have a passion for our business and customers everyone on DW here, is excited to teach others about the capabilities it supports, I too was excited to teach others supporting user engagement activities through presentations and DW live events.

Ensure Process discipline creating the Learning Circles from the beginning, strongly emphasized this item as we had to go through lots of governance and reviews before beginning the pilot. This is to ensure the quality of the program we are putting forward.

Build strong relationships; be a team player; develop ourselves and Others This is what the learning circles program encompasses, learning circles creates relationships over a time, and requires you to become a team player, even in creating a program you have to be a team player in order to accomplish goals and deadlines on time.

Enjoy the journey and each other; have fun never at others expense This is important not only at ford but in life in general. I was amazed with amount of intern activities that provided a great time, as well as outings such as going to a Tigers game with the DW team. By keeping morale up, people work better and more efficiently.

Thank YouSo before I open the floor for questions, I want to thank everyone who has helped me over this summer and especially Dr. Kelly Unger, who has been a mentor to me over the past 11 weeks, and has guided and taught me almost everything I know here at Ford. I hope I see you all next year as an FCG. Thank you.27
