    Usability of Metro site in BHARTI Project In Bharti project, the idea is to deploy Metrosites on tower top for the new town rollout.

    However in a metro/ city scenario , metrosites can be deployed as coverage/capacity infillers and also asmicrocells

    Metrosite Can only offer RX Diversity if it has minimum 2 TRXs in any sector. In the BHARTI project ,wherever Metrosite will be proposed for New Town or as Infiller , atleast 2/2/2 configuration will be deployed

    This solution can be used upto 4/4/4 configuration with the 3 Metrosites chained together as describedbelow.

    To increase the capacity expansion possibilities, Nokia MetroSite EDGE base stations can be chained asone BCF object to include up to 12 TRXs.Chaining is done by extending the BTS internal buses through theextension interface on the interface unit. Each BTS is connected to the next BTS in the chain with only onecable (up to five metres).Only one of the BTSs (the master BTS) incorporates a transmission unit (FXCtype).One BTS acts as the master BTS, in which the master TRX of the chain is located. However, eachBTS has a dedicated TRX to control the heating and cooling functions. The chained BTSs share the sameframe clock (FCLK) and frame number and the sector configuration is therefore not limited by the cabinetboundaries.

    NOTE: The maximum distance between any 2 Metrosite Cabinets can only be 3 or 5m. For BHARTI casethe interconnecting cable being ordered is only 3m length.

    Nokia Metrosite does not include a combiner in it. This implies that for any configuration above 2/2/2using Metrosite , there will be a need for additional antenna and antenna line.

    Nokia Network planning currently is not recommending the use of any external combiners withMetrosite since these are 3rdparty products and their performance in terms of insertion loss etc isdoubtful.

    Metrosite as a part of this solution should be placed as close as possible to the antenna. 3/8Jumper cable will be used to connect the Metro site to the antenna.

    The Losses for 3/8 Jumper are: 13.9dB/100m for 900MHz & 20.5dB/100m for 1800MHz

    Maximum Feeder + Connector loss that we are assuming for Metro sitesolution is 0.5dB. This implies that the maximum length of jumper that can beused is 1.5m.

    Here are some more scenarios of Metrosite deployment :

    2+2+2 Site on a Tower : Use 2 nos. Metrosite cabinets with 3 X-Polar antennas

    Metrosite will be installed on a separate pole next to any one of the sectors. For connectingMetrosite to the sector which is next to it, use 1.5m 3/8 Jumper.

    For connecting Metrosite to the other 2 sectors, use 1.5 m 3/8 Jumper if possible else use thecombination of 3/8 Jumper at BTS end + 7/8 SuperFlex cable .

    Please note that even with the use of 7/8 SuperFlex cable , the maximum cable length canonly be 5m. This together with 1.5m of 3/8 Jumper will result in loss of 0.72dB for 1800MHz and 0.53dB for 900 MHz.

    Metrosite will be installed on a separate pole next to any one of the sectors. For connecting

    Metrosite to the sector which is next to it, use 1.5m 3/8 Jumper.For connecting Metrosite to the other 2 sectors, use 1.5 m 3/8 Jumper if possible else use the

    combination of 3/8 Jumper at BTS end + 7/8 SuperFlex cable .

    Please note that even with the use of 7/8 SuperFlex cable , the maximum cable length can onlybe 5m. This together with 1.5m of 3/8 Jumper will result in loss of 0.72dB for 1800 MHz and0.53dB for 900 MHz.

    The second Metrosite cabinet can be installed on the same/separate pole next to any of theremaining sectors. For connecting Metrosite to this sector, use 1.5m 3/8 Jumper.Howeverplease ensure that the distance between the 2 cabinets does not exceed 3m.

    For connecting Metrosite to the third, use 1.5 m 3/8 Jumper if possible else use the combinationof 3/8 Jumper at BTS end + 7/8 SuperFlex cable .Please note that even with the use of 7/8SuperFlex cable , the maximum cable length can only be 5m.     Usability of Metro site in BHARTI ProjectTransmission with the Nokia MetroSite EDGE Base Station

    FXC RRI transmission units are used with Nokia MetroHopper radios and/or NokiaFlexiHopper microwave radios. The FC E1/T1, FXC E1 and FXC E1/T1 transmission units are

    used for wireline transmission.

    Each Metrosite cabinet can house either one FXCRRI or FXC E1 card.

    In case of chained Metrosites i.e. more than one cabinet connected together at one site, therewould still be one FXCRRI or FXCE1 card required and this will then act as the Master TRScard for the remaining cabinets also.

    Metrosites can be used in Chain, Star or Loop topology.

    One FXCRRI card can only provide 2 FB interfaces so incase a site with this solution becomesa convergence or nodal point from where more than 2 links are originating, appropriatesolution needs to be worked out considering FIUs.
