President’s Message

This past week at MRW CHAT we discussed the importance of volunteering through the Tarrant

County GOP Headquarters with Tarrant County Elections. Working the elections, no matter the

capacity, is vital to an honest election. There are both paid and volunteer positions. MRW is

creating a list of volunteers who will donate their time to work elections from poll watching (if

you see a questionable act, all you do is call the party headquarters), working with mail-in

ballots (verifying signatures of voters), and/or working as an election judge, assistant election

judge or clerk. These are short-term assignments. If you are looking for a way to contribute to

preserving the integrity of our elections, please help!

The municipal elections occur in May. I live in Fort Worth, so I am trying to educate myself on

the city issues and who represents me. Personally, I find it harder to be involved in these

elections. If you have ideas about how to learn about your city candidates and upcoming

municipal issues on the ballot, please share those with me.

No matter what the level of the election, I want to be involved. Please continue to keep up the

good work of our club by participating in these activities. Anything we can do to protect the

integrity of our elections is a worthy effort.

I am working on presenting a Training Session for TFRW Club officers. Toni Anne Dashiell will

be heading it up. Officers from clubs in State Senatorial Districts 9, 10 and 12 will be included.

Let me know if you would be willing to help plan this event. Save the date: Saturday, April 13th.

Upcoming TFRW Events:

April 13th – Training Session for TFRW Club Officers

April 24th – Belles ‘n Boots Ball – Scholz Garten, Austin

April 25th – 2019 Legislative Day in Austin – (Dust Off Your Red Attire!)

Shelley Rayburn ~ President

Lathan Watts Director of Legal Communications

First Liberty Institute

First Liberty Institute is the largest non-profit legal organization in the nation dedicated

exclusively to defending and protecting our religious freedom and first amendment rights. First Liberty has been at the forefront and defended some of the nation’s most critical cases regarding religious freedom—cases like the wedding cake baker, Jack Phillips of Colorado, the Postal Service (2017) regulation banning any depiction of religious content on postage

stamps, and the Bladensburg, MD, World War I monument (known as the Peace Cross), as well as many other cases headed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

You don’t want to miss what Lathan has to say about First Liberty Institute and

what they are doing to help protect our most important civil liberty: religion.

I met a magical fairy yesterday who said she would grant me one wish. "I wish to live forever," I said. "Sorry," said the fairy, "That is the only wish that I'm not allowed to grant." "Fine," I said, "then I want to die the day after Congress is filled with honest, hard-working, bipartisan men and women who act only in the people's best interests!" "You crafty old creep!" replied the fairy.

“I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what IS extraordinarily important is this: who will count the votes; and how.”

Josef Stalin -- Communist Tyrant and Mass Murderer

From True Texas Elections (Dr. Laura Pressley): Texas Elections laws are NOT being followed regarding counting and tabulating votes. Waivers have been given to counties for years to NOT follow the law. This must stop! Support Senator Bob Hall's Election Integrity bills. Let’s all give a farewell salute to an American hero who inadvertently became synonymous with the end of World War II. Sunday, at an assisted living facility in Middletown, RI, George Mendonsa passed away at 95. In 1945, Mendonsa was on leave in his Navy uniform in Times Square when word came that Japan had surrendered and the war was over. As the crowd went wild in celebration, the jubilant Mendonsa ran down the street, grabbing and kissing any woman in sight. Life magazine photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt was there, trying to capture the joy of the moment, when he spotted Mendonsa, followed him and snapped a photo

of him kissing a nurse clad all in white. That photo appeared under the title, “VJ Day in Times Square” and later become known as "The Kiss," one of the most iconic images of World War II.

The Wall

This article appeared in The Las Vegas Review Journal, written by Wayne Allyn Root. It explains walls in the most understanding way. (Please ignore the advertising slogan, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!” It’s not true.) Las Vegas is the crossroads of America. What happens here is happening everywhere. And I’ve uncovered the biggest liberal scam in America going on right here in Vegas! It revolves around my home community in Henderson. I live in Anthem Country Club. There are about 1,500 beautiful homes behind the gates at Anthem. What’s the appeal of Anthem Country Club? It’s got a big beautiful wall around it. And thick iron gates in front, protected by armed guards. There is virtually no crime inside walled, gated, armed Anthem! I’ve lived here for almost 17 years. My kids grew up here. They played outside every day from morning till night, and I never worried for one moment. Because of the wall, the gates and the armed guards, my kids were as safe as if they lived in “Mayberry R.F.D.” Life is good behind the gates of Anthem! In the rest of Las Vegas…not so much; in the rest of Vegas, there is lots of crime and fear. This proves walls, gates and armed guards are good if you want your family to be safe! But wait! Anthem recently added a new feature to keep our residents safe. Drivers entering our gates now must show a government-issued photo ID. Anyone entering our community—guests, gardeners, maids, nannies, pool cleaners, handymen, plumbers, electricians, delivery personnel—all must provide state or federal government-issued photo ID’s or they will be denied entry. Every single one of them. There are many lessons we can learn from studying Anthem. If you want your family and children to be safe, build a wall...Preferably a wall that is also surrounded by armed guards. The Vatican understands this lesson. Mexico understands—it has a wall on its southern border. Many rich Liberals in America who live in gated communities—or gated private estates or buildings with doormen—understand this lesson too. They just don’t want you to have a wall. They think their children are more important than yours! They clearly think you are stupid, as they argue walls and guns are not necessary along our southern border. Liberal Democrats are hypocrites in this and many other ways! Guess who lives inside the walls of Anthem Country Club? "Harry Reid!" You know—former U.S. Senator and Majority Leader in the Senate! He was the former water carrier for President Obama, who spent his entire Senate career fighting viciously against a wall! Harry argued that walls were terrible and unnecessary. Harry could have retired anywhere in Vegas—or anywhere in America, for that matter. But he chose to live behind the walls—and gates—and armed guards of Anthem Country Club! Harry is my neighbor. Welcome to the neighborhood! But, Harry, don’t Liberals hate walls and gates and armed guards and photo ID’s? Don’t Liberals call those racists? Yet here sits Harry Reid and the entire Reid clan! Interesting! The argument against voter ID is a scam. How do all those gardeners and maids and pool cleaners and handymen drive through the gates of Anthem every day? The answer: They already have government-issued photo ID’s. So I guess it’s a lie when Liberal politicians claim minorities don’t have photo ID’s, or they’re too difficult for them to get, or it’s “racist” to ask them for it. I guess we just proved the Liberal argument is a scam! Voter ID is an issue because Liberals want election fraud. They can’t win without it! They want illegals to be able to vote by the millions for the Democrats. Folks, we are being scammed! Anthem Country Club is the proof. What happens here is happening everywhere!!! No, I didn’t “Snopes” it, Bless your Heart! The same walled, gated and secure communities exist in all states—predominantly located near and within the big Democrat cities. The next time a Democrat is President, you better hope you can afford to live in one of them! We either have THE RULE OF LAW for EVERYONE or we tolerate the LAWLESSNESS OF THE WOULD-BE RULERS! We can't have it BOTH WAYS! The end stage of the latter is ALWAYS TOTAL TYRANNY. Which will it be, America? WHICH WILL IT BE??? And remember that the most dangerous phrase in ANY language is “Why THAT could never happen HERE!!!” Are you willing to bet YOUR KIDS' future that it won't? If you're STILL sitting out this fight, that's PRECISELY what you're doing! (Last but not least, the two-faced “BETO” has a wall around his home in El Paso!)

Carol Coy Metroplex Republican Women PO Box 48713 Watauga, TX 76148 Dear Metroplex Republican Women: Because of your gift, our families are able to create the irreplaceable gift of friendship, and through these powerful friendships come unparalleled support. Your gift of pop tabs helps to shape key moments during a family stay here while facing a medical crisis. When Colton first returned to the House, he was terrified of the treatments and doctors. However, once Colton met Liam, he gained a special form of reassurance from his new friend when he needed it the most. Liam and Colton both stayed here during their treatments, and together, they drew upon each other for strength and courage. As their friendship continued to blossom, Liam always sought out Colton to lend a smile, laugh or a helping hand. When they were not receiving treatment, they would be found in true 4-year-old fashion running around the dining room or playing their favorite activities in our game rooms like best friends should do. “All thanks to the Ronald McDonald House! It was our second time to stay there for a few months. Each time, we’ve made lifelong friends.” ~ Colton’s Mom Thanks to generous donors like you, families are able to find one-of-a-kind companionship when they need it the most. Thank you so much for your support! With gratitude,

Lauri Adams Stephanie Roessler Lauri Adams Stephanie Roessler Chief Operating Officer Volunteer Coordinator

Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth offers a supportive, home-like community that eases burdens for seriously ill children and their families.

Okay, MRW Members, keep poppin’ those tabs…..it’s worth it!!! Put them in a container/plastic bag and bring them to our meetings periodically.
