Conclusions/Recommendations of VISUAL STUDY ALONGMETRO STRATEGIES
While undertaking TOD following has to be consideredWhile undertaking TOD following has to be considered• Assessing the potential of MRTS stretches.• Carrying capacity of the area has to be assessed while taking up redevelopment or
densification• There has be proper integration of modes in terms of parking space for personal vehicles ,
IPT and NMT at all interchanges.• Carriage way under the metro station should not be occupied /encroached by parking
/informal sector activities.• Multi Utility Zones (MUZ) have to be planned by earmarking space for informal activities.• Unplanned development along metro stretches may be considered for redevelopment
provided the area are developed as per lay out with scope for incentives in form ofadditional FAR.
• Low rise commercial /manufacturing use may be discouraged around metro stretch and theexisting ones may be redeveloped by way of incentives
• Multilevel parking be provided at origin /destination, metro stations and parking in betweenat stations be provided subject to requirement.Ulti t bj ti f TOD i t d t i /NMT t d h th• Ultimate objective of TOD is to encourage pedestrian/NMT movement and hence, thosekind of uses may be allowed which generates large footfalls and not increased use ofpersonalized modes.
• Open space/green zones along the metro stretches needs to be further strengthened
