EGNOS users in MEDA
Under the assumption of “EGNOS operational in 2011”:Civil Aviation and freight transport (maritime, road and rail) are common priorities
∼2,7 million of uses for EGNOS SoL (∼ 2,5 in Civil Aviation) in 2019
∼0,2 million of uses for EGNOS OS+ CS (∼ 0,1 in Road, 0,07 in maritime freight) in 2019

EURO-Med GNSS I METIS Final Event, Tunis 7 December 2009
An EGNOS Regional/National Plan requires an EGNOS Regional/National coverage
EGNOS introduction/exploitation brings social and economical benefits in all MEDA countries; both EU and MEDA could benefit
In parallel with the EGNOS SiS extension, implementation of enablers to prepare the markets is necessary to create favourable conditions, to support technological transfer and service standardisation/harmonization, facilitating the introduction as soon as the EGNOS service will be available:
Maintenance of the GNSS Regional and National Plans every 2-years
Starting with priorities
With a specific strategy for each market in each country (no “general introduction”)
Joint EU-MEDA Institutions’ actions to do not stop Euro-Med GNSS I efforts, performed in these directions in the last 3 years and half
MEDA stakeholders commitment for investments now for “the long-term” in terms of economic and human resources

From State view pointTuned on priority marketsAssumption: States participate to EGNOS costs according to the SoL market
CBAs show social and economical benefits due to introduction of EGNOS
CBAs are highly sensitive to the year of EGNOS introduction (delays decrease benefits)
